While it was known that Samsung has been working on a Special Edition of its Galaxy Z Fold 6, the exact release date or other official details were under wraps, until now. To everyone’s surprise, the smartphone suddenly appeared on Samsung India’s website this week. It understandably sparked curiosity among fans and tech enthusiasts likewise.
The listing on the Samsung India website doesn’t reveal many details though.
Upon checking the listing, it was found that the specs and images displayed are identical to the standard Galaxy Z Fold 6.
The model number on the listing page is SM-F956BAKDINS, which also matches the regular version of the foldable phone. This managed to keep the curiosity alive along with plenty of room for speculations about what makes this “Special Edition” different.
Among the details that we know now include the device’s official name. It is “Galaxy Z Fold 6 (Special Edition)” and not what was previously reported as “Galaxy Z Fold (Special Edition).”
We can also assume that the Fold 6 Special Edition might be available in more markets beyond just South Korea and China since the webpage appeared on Samsung India’s website.
This also hints at a wider release, possibly in regions like the US and Europe.
The launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition might be close.
A user on X (formerly Twitter) shared an image from a Korean retailer showing a pre-order period running until October 24, 2024.

Pre-orders are expected to open on October 18 and deliveries will most likely begin on October 25.
As per reports, the Special Edition of Galaxy Z fold 6 will have a slightly larger 6.5-inch cover display. It could include an 8-inch inner foldable screen. The regular Z Fold 6 comes with a 6.3-inch cover and a 7.6-inch inner display.
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition is expected to have a larger camera island on the back. It will most likely feature a squircle-shaped camera module and not the oval design we have seen on the regular Fold 6.
There will probably be a power button, which might also have the fingerprint sensor and the volume rocker positioned above it.
The rear panel might sport a brushed metal finish. Certain reports also claim that the smartphone could have textured glass designed that will look like metal.

It seems fans won’t have to wait for long for an official reveal and possible pre-order phase.
