According to a report by Smartprix, Samsung has announced an imminent release for the Galaxy A06 that will hold the position of their next entry-level smartphone.
The device appeared on a Wi-Fi certification site.
The listing further corroborates model number SM-A065F/DS for the Galaxy A06.
Passing through the usual launch cycle of Samsung, expectations are rife that the A06 will hit the markets starting September this year.
However, there’s a possibility of an earlier launch, considering the Galaxy A04’s August 2022 release.
Knowing Samsung’s usual style, an “s” variant of the A06 could very much be in the pipeline.
This would be very similar in pattern to the Galaxy A05 and A05s, which were announced at the same time.
While detailed specifications are not yet available, the certification confirms that the Galaxy A06 will support both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi bands.
To set expectations for the A06, it’s worth revisiting the Galaxy A05’s specifications:
Since the A0X series is positioned as the most budget-friendly offerings from Samsung, major upgrades might not be forthcoming.
That said, fans are still expecting some sort of changes from the A05, which was a pretty low-key release.
Smartprix says that certification of the Galaxy A06 does give an idea where it is in its development, but more detailed information is yet to come.
Needless to say, best to take this with a grain of salt and just wait for official announcements from Samsung itself for confirmed specifications and features.
The Samsung Galaxy A06 is expected to launch in September 2024, though an earlier release is possible.
The model number for the Samsung Galaxy A06 is SM-A065F/DS, as revealed by the Wi-Fi certification listing.
The Galaxy A06 will support both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi bands.
The Galaxy A05 featured a 6.7-inch 60 Hz PLS LCD, MediaTek Helio G85 chipset, up to 128 GB storage, 6 GB RAM, 50 MP main camera, 5000 mAh battery, and 25W wired charging.
Yes, similar to previous models, an “s” variant of the Galaxy A06 could be in the pipeline, potentially launching alongside the standard version.
