Flipkart to deliver medicines across India with its newly introduced Health+ app

Flipkart Health+, India’s homegrown Flipkart Group’s digital healthcare marketplace platform, has launched the Flipkart Health+ app. Users will be able to get genuine pharmaceuticals and healthcare supplies from independent sellers using the app, which hopes to service customers in 20,000 Indian pin codes.

To begin with, Flipkart Health+ will first connect over 500 independent sellers with a network of registered pharmacists to validate medical prescriptions and accurately dispense pharmaceuticals, according to a statement from the company.

Prashant Jhaveri, CEO of Flipkart Health+, stated that since the COVID-19 pandemic, Indians have seen a huge shift in favour of wellness and preventative healthcare, and there is a greater focus on health and wellbeing than ever before.

“Since the COVID-19 pandemic, Indians have witnessed a tremendous shift in favoring wellness and preventative healthcare and there is an increased focus on health and wellness, like never before. Through Flipkart Health+, we aim to solve the critical gap of accessibility to genuine medicines and healthcare products and services across the country, especially in the remotest parts of the country that have been underserved until now,” Prashant Jhaveri, Chief Executive Officer, Flipkart Health+, said.

“We want to leverage technology in a way that strengthens the healthcare ecosystem and enables it to serve customers better by making accessibility to healthcare simpler even for those residing in distant areas of the country and contributing towards a healthier India,” he said.

According to the company, the Flipkart Health+ app was created and developed with a user-friendly interface that will appeal to users of all technological abilities. The app, with its powerful technology and logistics infrastructure, will offer access to pharmaceuticals and healthcare products and services for a variety of health issues, including acute and chronic illnesses, in accordance with regulatory framework, to more customers across India, especially in remote locations that have traditionally remained underserved, it said.

Flipkart Health+ is partnering with SastaSundar’s healthcare network across the country. SastaSundar.com is now redirecting users to the Flipkart Health+ homepage. In the next months, the company hopes to onboard third-party healthcare service providers to provide customers with additional healthcare services such as teleconsultation and e-diagnostics. For Android users, the Flipkart Health+ app is available on Google Play. The company says customers can expect the Flipkart Health+ app to be available on iOS soon, according to the company.
