The Fairphone (Gen. 6) is here, and it stays true to the brand’s mission of making ethical, sustainable, and long-lasting smartphones. This new model builds on the Fairphone 5, bringing better specs, fresh customisation features and longer support. Here’s more about the phone.

Fairphone (Gen. 6) – Key Features

Fairphone 6 is all about durability and easy repair. Like previous models, it’s modular. This means you can easily replace key components using Fairphone’s guides and spare parts. The phone is e-waste neutral, made in factories with fair labour practices, and scores high on the EU’s new energy efficiency and repairability rating.

It now runs on the more powerful Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chip, has a larger 4,415mAh battery with 30W fast charging, and offers just one variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage, expandable via microSD.

The phone features a 6.31-inch LTPO OLED screen with FHD+ resolution and a smooth 10–120Hz adaptive refresh rate. Protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, it can hit up to 1,400 nits brightness and houses a 32MP selfie camera in front. On the back, there’s a 50MP Sony Lytia 700C main sensor with OIS, and a 13MP ultra-wide shooter.

Fairphone 6 has a more compact design than its predecessor, shedding 19 grams in weight. It uses a matte composite body, is IP55 rated, and can survive drops up to 1.5 meters.

The Fairphone 6 runs near-stock Android 15 by default, but users can also choose a “de-Googled” version powered by /e/OS, which skips Google apps and services for more privacy.

Fairphone (Gen. 6) – New Custom Back Accessories and Warranty

You can now swap the backplates and attach accessories like a lanyard, cardholder, or finger loop by removing just two screws.

Also new is a yellow side switch that activates “Moments,” a digital detox mode that switches the phone to monochrome and limits access to five essential apps.

Fairphone promises 8 years of software updates and a 5-year warranty, making this one of the longest-supported Android phones you can buy.
