Xcode 15.2, which now supports Vision Pro apps, inadvertently revealed that the device is equipped with 16GB of RAM.
This information, originally reported by MacRumors, comes from files associated with the Vision Pro found in Xcode 15.
However, other details about the internals of the Vision Pro still remain under wraps.
In a press release this week, Apple reiterated that the Vision Pro will be powered by its M2 chip for “powerful standalone performance,” along with an all-new R1 chip that “processes input from 12 cameras, five sensors, and six microphones to ensure that content feels like it is appearing right in front of the user’s eyes.”
Developers are now able to submit their apps tailored for the Vision Pro to the App Store, thanks to the new update in Xcode, aligning with the imminent launch of the visionOS app marketplace.
While it’s confirmed that the Vision Pro will start at $3,499 with a 256GB model, the full range of storage options remains unclear.
Speculation has been fueled by reports and sources, including 9to5Mac, suggesting that some developer kits came with 512GB of storage, and others in the market feature a 1TB option.
This has led to assumptions that Apple may offer 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB models, though this has not been officially confirmed by Apple.
What we do know for sure is that the device will be dual-chipset offering leveraging the capabilities of the M2 chipset for its processing and separate R1 chipset for its spatial computing.
After months of back and forth, reports, rumours and leaks, it is now finally confirmed that the Vision Pro is set to be available for pre-order in the U.S. from January 19 at 5 a.m. Pacific Time, with the official launch slated for February 2.
Apple previously announced plans for a staggered international release later in the year.
There is no confirmation yet on when or if the Vision Pro will land on the Indian shores.
The recent Xcode 15.2 update has confirmed that the Apple Vision Pro will feature 16GB of RAM. This information was discovered in the Xcode files specifically related to the Vision Pro device.
While Apple has only confirmed a 256GB model starting at $3,499, there is speculation, based on various reports and developer kit analyses, that the Vision Pro might also come in 512GB and 1TB storage variants. However, Apple has not officially confirmed these options.
The Vision Pro is expected to feature a dual-chipset system, combining the power of the M2 chipset for its primary processing needs and a separate R1 chipset dedicated to spatial computing, highlighting its advanced technological capabilities.
The Vision Pro is scheduled for pre-order in the U.S. starting January 19 at 5 a.m. Pacific Time, with its official launch on February 2.
This follows months of anticipation and speculation about the device.
