At WWDC 2025, Apple had plenty to showcase from major iOS 26 software updates to sneak peeks at new hardware. But one of the more exciting announcements was the launch of Apple’s first dedicated gaming app, marking a big step in its push toward serious gaming on all its platforms.
As part of its growing focus on gaming, Apple introduced a new gaming app that will be available on iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and tvOS. This app is designed to be a central hub where users can discover, access, and manage all their games in one place.
Whether it’s titles from the App Store or content from Apple Arcade, the app pulls everything together into a more immersive and organised experience.

The gaming app will come pre-installed with the next round of OS updates rolling out later this year. Features include achievements, leaderboards, notifications, and recent player activity, giving it a feel closer to a social gaming platform than a simple utility.
Mac users will also be able to track and launch games installed outside the App Store, which is a big plus.
This move is in line with Apple’s broader gaming strategy. The company recently acquired RAC7 Games, creators of Sneaky Sasquatch, and has been bringing console-level games like Death Stranding, Assassin’s Creed Mirage and Resident Evil Village to the iPhone.
Unlike the older Game Centre, this new app feels more complete. It’s not just about tracking scores, it’s about connecting with friends, discovering new games, and jumping straight into gameplay, all from one sleek interface.
Moreover, it promises to make gaming on Apple devices smoother and more unified than ever with deep Apple Arcade integration and support for your entire App Store game history.
