Apple has officially launched the new 14-inch MacBook Pro and iPad Pro, both powered by the next-generation M5 chip. The new lineup marks a major step forward for Apple’s computing ecosystem, promising exceptional performance, AI-driven enhancements, and all-day battery life. The 14-inch MacBook Pro with M5 chip starts at ₹1,69,900 in India for general customers, while education pricing begins at ₹1,59,900. Available in Space Black and Silver, the laptop can be pre-ordered through apple.com with deliveries starting October 22.
According to Apple, the M5 chip brings a significant leap in artificial intelligence capabilities and system speed, offering up to 3.5x faster AI performance than its predecessor. The company also highlights enhanced CPU and GPU performance, faster storage, and battery life of up to 24 hours, catering to both professionals and students who need portability and power.

The M5 chip introduces a next-generation GPU with Neural Accelerator technology in each core and a faster 16-core Neural Engine, offering 3.5x faster AI processing and 1.6x improved graphics performance over the M4 chip. The SSD performance is up to 2x faster, enabling quicker file transfers and app launches. The MacBook Pro supports up to 4TB of storage and 150GB/s unified memory bandwidth, making it suitable for AI developers and creative professionals.

Powered by a 10-core CPU and an upgraded GPU, the M5 MacBook Pro is designed to handle complex tasks like video editing, 3D design, and app development, while maintaining up to 24 hours of battery life.
The laptop features a 14-inch Liquid Retina XDR display with an optional nano-texture glass finish for glare reduction. It includes a 12MP Centre Stage camera, a six-speaker sound system with Spatial Audio, and a wide port selection for enhanced connectivity.
Built on macOS Tahoe, the MacBook Pro also integrates Apple Intelligence, a suite of privacy-focused AI tools that support text-to-image generation, live translation, and workflow automation. Users can further personalise their system with new design themes and folder colour options.
Apple has also unveiled the new iPad Pro lineup featuring the M5 chip, available in 11-inch and 13-inch models. The 11-inch Wi-Fi version starts at ₹99,900, while the Wi-Fi + Cellular model costs ₹1,19,900.
The 13-inch iPad Pro is priced at ₹1,29,900 (Wi-Fi) and ₹1,49,900 (Wi-Fi + Cellular).

The M5 chip delivers up to 3.5x faster AI performance than the M4 and 5.6x faster than the M1, powered by a next-generation GPU with Neural Accelerator cores and a 16-core Neural Engine. The chip also debuts a third-generation ray-tracing engine, enabling 1.5x faster 3D rendering than the previous iPad Pro and 6.7x faster than the M1 model.
The 10-core CPU (with four performance and six efficiency cores) ensures seamless multitasking across demanding applications like Adobe Illustrator and Final Cut Pro, while offering up to 6x faster video transcoding and 3.7x faster AI video upscaling than M1.
Apple has improved memory bandwidth to over 150GB/s, increased read/write speeds up to 2x, and equipped the 256GB and 512GB models with 12GB unified memory. Fast charging delivers up to 50% charge in just 30 minutes with an optional 70W USB-C adapter.
The Ultra Retina XDR display features tandem OLED technology, achieving 1,000 nits full-screen brightness and 1,600 nits peak HDR brightness. Both models come in Space Black and Silver, measuring 5.3mm (11-inch) and 5.1mm (13-inch) in thickness. The optional nano-texture glass minimises reflections for a premium viewing experience.

Connectivity upgrades include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread support, while the C1X modem provides up to 50% faster cellular data speeds with 30% lower power consumption. It also features N1, a new Apple-designed wireless networking chip that enables Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread.
The iPad Pro also supports Apple Pencil Pro, Apple Pencil (USB-C), a redesigned Magic Keyboard with aluminium palm rest, and a new Smart Folio for protection and versatility.
Pre-orders for both the MacBook Pro with M5 and iPad Pro with M5 are live now on apple.com and the Apple Store app. As mentioned above, retail availability will start from October 22 in India and 31 other markets.
