Apple could be gearing up for another round of major product announcements this week. As per Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman’s latest Power On Newsletter, the tech giant is preparing to unveil refreshed versions of the iPad Pro, Vision Pro headset, and 14-inch MacBook Pro, all powered by the new M5 chip.
The unveiling is expected to happen through online press releases and short promotional videos. The launch timing is uncertain as of now. But reports suggest the announcements are expected to happen sometime this week for Indian users. Here’s a quick roundup of everything that can be expected for the launch.
The next-generation iPad Pro M5 has already made headlines after unboxing videos from Russia surfaced online, revealing key details ahead of Apple’s official announcement. The tablet is said to feature the M5 processor with at least 12GB of RAM as standard. While the overall design remains similar to its predecessor, Apple has made one subtle change. The “iPad Pro” branding has been removed from the back panel.
In terms of performance, early benchmark results suggest a significant performance boost with up to 12% faster multi-core CPU performance and 36% better graphics compared to the M4-powered model.
Rumours had hinted at a dual front-camera setup for improved video calls, but leaked units don’t show this feature, leaving some ambiguity about the final design.
Apple’s high-end mixed-reality headset, the Vision Pro, is also reportedly getting an upgrade. According to Gurman, this refreshed version will run on the M5 chip, not the previously rumoured M4. This aligns with Apple’s strategy to standardise its top-tier devices on the latest silicon.
The updated Vision Pro could also introduce a new “Dual Knit Band” for better comfort and may come in a Space Black finish. Regulatory filings suggest it will retain Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, rather than adopting newer standards like Wi-Fi 6E or Wi-Fi 7.
It’s still unclear whether this will be marketed as a second-generation Vision Pro or simply a performance refresh, especially since reports indicate that Apple has paused development of a full successor and the more affordable “Vision Air”, shifting focus toward smart glasses instead.
The third device expected to debut is the entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro, which Gurman claims is “ready for launch” with the M5 processor. However, higher-end variants featuring M5 Pro and M5 Max chips are unlikely to arrive before 2026, as Apple seems to be taking a staggered rollout approach for its new chip lineup.
Design-wise, the new MacBook Pro won’t bring drastic changes. Major upgrades such as OLED displays, touchscreen support, slimmer bezels, built-in 5G connectivity, and next-gen M6 chips built on TSMC’s 2nm process are reportedly planned for future models.
Beyond these M5-powered devices, Apple’s upcoming lineup remains packed with new hardware in development. Gurman reports that refreshed versions of the AirTags, Apple TV, and HomePod mini are in the pipeline.
The company is also expected to launch updated iPad, iPad Air, MacBook Air, and even a new iPhone 17e in the coming year.
