OPPO has officially started rolling out the stable ColorOS 17 update to its flagship OPPO Find X8. The initial international deployment schedule saw it officially launching on October 30, 2026. The stable update is now going out in key regions, including India, Indonesia and Malaysia. Instead of pushing to all devices at the same time, the rollout is taking place in sequential batches. The ColorOS 17 update will initially be sent out to selected users in these locations before a larger release to all users and other worldwide regions soon thereafter.
The devices need to be currently running the base software version CPH2651_16.0.10.500(EX01) to be eligible for the stable upgrade. The file size of the update package has not been mentioned by OPPO, but being a complete major system upgrade to Android 17, it is expected to be a hefty download for the customers.

The OPPO Find X8 runs on ColorOS 17, offering a more polished system experience with visual fluidity, smart efficiency and system performance.
The ColorOS 17 upgrade brings a Liquid Acrylic Design, which includes soft lighting effects, semi-transparent layers, and standardised rounded edges throughout pop-ups, menus, and system elements. The update introduces AI-powered features, with integrated AI writing tools, AI photo eraser enhancements, and smart summary tools.
The ColourOS 17 upgrade also comes with a next-generation animation engine that delivers ultra-smooth app launches, lower system lag and better multitasking responsiveness. The update also brings updated privacy and security protections, battery efficiency, new stock weather, clock and file manager applications and customisable Always-On Display (AOD) options.

How to Download ColorOS 17 on OPPO Find X8
Users who will receive the ColorOS 17 update are required to manually check and apply for the update in the device’s system settings.
- Open Settings on your OPPO Find X8
- Go to System & Update > Software Update
- Select the Icon on the top right corner, and tap Beta program
- Choose Release candidate and click on Apply Now
- If the update appeared, tap Download Now to install the update
