  • This is Samsung’s first dedicated fitness tracker update in almost three years.

Samsung is preparing to release its next fitness tracker, the Galaxy Fit 4. The last time the company came out with a fitness band was almost three years ago, so this is an addition for anybody looking for lightweight, simple activity monitoring. Recent leaks, certification filings and app teardowns give us a clearer glimpse of what Samsung is planning.

Samsung Galaxy Fit 4 Leaked Features

With the Galaxy Fit 4, Samsung is targeting fitness enthusiasts, casual runners and daily users who want to check their health without purchasing a full-blown smartwatch. The Galaxy Fit 4 is a small fitness band with all the activity tracking, heart rate monitoring, stress management, and sleep coaching.

The watch face is rendered at 258 x 428 pixels and is taller than the Galaxy Fit 3. The band supports up to 12 customisable tiles to quickly scroll across widgets. The leak hints at three basic colour options: Black, Silver and Light Green.

Deeper within the code, you’ll see a new UI banner for checking and installing firmware upgrades, and a native “Find My Phone” function that enables you to ring a lost smartphone from your wrist. Users will also get more granular notification management with choices like “Smart device selection” and “Always show on both” to make it simpler to manage notifications across devices. The software also supports up to 12 fast access tiles for widgets like step counts, weather, stress levels, and heart rate. Embedded image materials show watch faces generated at 258 x 428 pixels in Black, Silver, and Light Green colourways.

Galaxy Fit 4 Design Revealed

Leaked app files and regulatory filings suggest the Galaxy Fit 4 retains the sleek rectangular shape. The display gets a minor height increase to display more text at a glance, and official renderings suggest it will come in three finish options: Black, Silver and Light Green.

Samsung Galaxy Fit 4 Leaks: What We Know So Far

The Galaxy Fit 4 is basically the same as the Galaxy Fit 3. The Samsung Galaxy Fit 4 lacks built-in GPS, which is one of the noteworthy missing capabilities, so you’ll still need your phone linked for exact outside route mapping.

Specifications Leaked Details
Display Taller rectangular screen (258 x 428 pixels)
Colours Black, Silver, Light Green
Health Monitoring Heart rate, stress, $SpO_2$, period tracking, sleep coaching, snoring detection
Smart Features Find My Phone, flexible notification display settings, software update banners
GPS Not mentioned in the app code

Should you wait for the Galaxy Fit 4?

If you need an inexpensive, lightweight fitness tracker to count steps, monitor sleep and get alerts without daily watch charging, the Galaxy Fit 4 is a suitable option. However, if you really care about having GPS tracking on its own for outside running, or you want third-party applications, then maybe a complete Galaxy Watch is best.

Samsung Galaxy Fit 4 Launch Date and Availability

Samsung hasn’t revealed a release date or price for the Galaxy Fit 4 yet. While the band (model SM-R391) is currently under regulatory safety testing and showing up in app upgrades, it is expected to have an official announcement soon. The device is anticipated to be priced between $59.99 and $79.99 globally.
