Vivo has officially confirmed the India launch date of the Vivo V80 after teasing the smartphone for days. The upcoming V-series phone will launch in India on October 6 and will bring several upgrades over its predecessor. The brand has already revealed several key details about the Vivo V80 through the now-live Amazon microsite. It has confirmed details including display, cameras, battery, software and more ahead of the launch.
Vivo V80 India Launch Confirmed For October 6
The Vivo V80 will launch in India on October 6 at 12 PM. According to the latest teasers, the phone will be available in three colour options named Sunrise Anthem, Horizon Blue and Stellar Black.
Customers will be able to purchase the smartphone through the Vivo India website, Amazon, Flipkart and offline retail stores across the country.
Vivo V80 Confirmed Specifications
The Vivo V80 will feature a 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The panel supports 1.07 billion colours and offers up to 5,000 nits of local peak brightness. It can also go as low as 1 nit of minimum brightness. The combination of the high refresh rate and wide brightness range is designed to provide smoother visuals while keeping the screen visible across different lighting conditions.
The smartphone will feature a 50MP Sony LYT-700V primary camera with OIS along with an ultra-wide ZEISS lens and a 50MP Sony IMX8822 periscope telephoto camera.
For selfies, the phone will have a 50MP ZEISS Group Selfie camera with a 92-degree field of view and autofocus support. The camera system will also support OIS and 4K video recording at 60fps.
Vivo is also adding ZEISS 85mm and 100mm portrait modes, while users will be able to record 4K cinematic videos on the smartphone.
The Vivo V80 will pack a 7,200mAh battery, which Vivo says is the largest battery ever used on a V-series smartphone. The battery supports 90W FlashCharge fast charging. According to Vivo, the phone can offer up to 14 hours of navigation and up to 39.5 hours of local video playback, giving users extended usage between charges.
On the software side, the Vivo V80 will run OriginOS 7 and will come with features such as Pet Pals, StickIt, Wiggle Theme and Snap Notes. Vivo is also promising long-term software support with the smartphone set to receive up to six years of security updates.
Vivo has not officially revealed the chipset powering the V80 yet. However, the smartphone was recently spotted on Geekbench, which revealed the chipset model number QTI SM7750. As per reports, it is the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC, which is the same chipset that also powers the predecessor Vivo V70.
Vivo is expected to reveal more details including the phone’s pricing and other specifications ahead of its now-confirmed October 6 launch.
