Highlights

  • Vivo X500 unboxing video leaked showing 6.59″ display, 90W charger, and bundled white silicone case.
  • Vivo has officially teased X500 Pro Max design with large circular camera module, telephoto extender, and photography grip.
  • The X500 lineup is expected to debut BluePrint 900 sensor, CIPA 7.0 OIS, 17-stop dynamic range, 4K 120fps Log video and native 8K live streaming.

Vivo is preparing to launch its X500 series in China on September 21. And ahead of the launch, one of the upcoming phones has already made its way into a retail store and the other one’s first look has been officially teased.

Vivo X500 White Variant Unboxing Video Leaks

A Vietnamese importer has posted a full unboxing video of the standard model in its white colour option. The video was recorded inside a Vivo retail store in China indicating that the importer appears to have obtained the device through a retail channel. It gives us a closer look at the phone itself as well as the accessories included in the box.

The White Vivo X500 shown in the video is said to feature a 6.59-inch display. Vivo is reportedly bundling a 90W charger with the smartphone along with a white silicone protective case that matches the phone’s colour.

The device could not be used normally during the unboxing because apps could not be opened. This is likely due to a software lock that prevents full functionality before the official launch.

The unboxing also provides a more complete view of the X500’s physical design. Earlier images had only shown the rear camera module on the phone’s other colour variant. However, the latest video shows the white model including its display, charging adapter and bundled case.

As for the camera hardware, Vivo has already confirmed most of the key specifications. The standard X500 is expected to use a 1/1.28-inch main camera sensor. This is the same Sony LYT-828 sensor used on the Vivo X300 Pro. The phone will also reportedly feature a 64-megapixel Lytia-610 telephoto camera with CIPA 5.5 image stabilization.

Vivo X500 Pro Max Design Officially Revealed

In a separate development, Vivo has now officially provided the first look at the design of the X500 Pro Max. The newly released image shows the Vivo X500 Pro Max with a large circular camera module positioned toward the upper section of the rear panel. The camera housing appears to rise gradually from the back of the phone.

The X500 Pro Max will be offered in at least two colour options including black and orange. Vivo has also shown the smartphone with a dedicated telephoto lens and a professional photography grip. These accessories give the device a more traditional camera-like appearance and are intended for users who want greater shooting control and more zoom reach.

The Vivo X500 Pro is expected to adopt a design similar to the Pro Max, although it should come in a smaller and more compact body. The standard X500, on the other hand, is rumoured to use a different camera layout, with its rear camera module placed in the top-left corner.

Vivo X500 Series – What To Expect?

Vivo is positioning the X500 lineup primarily around its camera and video capabilities. The company’s stated aim is to make the series a first choice for photography while also making it a go-to option for video recording.

The lineup is expected to introduce the BluePrint 900 sensor globally and offer CIPA 7.0 stabilisation for both the main camera and periscope telephoto camera. An upgraded AI photography assistant is also expected to be included.

Vivo has highlighted a 17-stop dynamic range, 10-bit 4:2:2 video encoding and support for the ACES colour encoding system. The phones will also feature dedicated professional Log video hardware enabling 4K 120fps 10-bit Log recording.

Moreover, it will support native 8K Live output and 8K Live streaming on supported platforms. These features are expected to make the upcoming Vivo flagship lineup particularly appealing to users who want more advanced photography and video recording capabilities.
