Vivo could be preparing to bring the Vivo S2 5G to international markets under a different name. A recent exclusive report by PassionateGeekz claims that the smartphone could launch globally as the Vivo V80 Lite 5G. Meanwhile, leaked promotional material has also surfaced online showing a design that appears very similar to the Vivo S2.
Vivo V80 Lite 5G Appears Similar to Vivo S2 in Leaked Poster
The leaked Vivo V80 Lite 5G promotional poster clearly shows the phone’s name along with the tagline “Slay Every Edge.” The image also provides an early look at the smartphone’s design with a curved display.
The poster also has a “Coming Soon” tag suggesting that Vivo could begin officially teasing the smartphone in the near future.
The design shown in the promotional material has several similarities with the Vivo S2. The S2 features a slim body with curved edges and a horizontal camera island on the rear. The camera module houses two large circular cameras along with a distinctive circular flash.
Meanwhile, PassionateGeekz’s report also includes a leaked promotional image of Vivo V80 Lite 5G. The blue finish, horizontal camera arrangement and curved display all look extremely similar to the Vivo S2. This has led to speculation that the S2 could serve as the hardware base for the V80 Lite 5G in international markets.
However, it is important to note that the promotional poster currently circulating online has not been released through Vivo India’s official channels as of yet.
Vivo V80 Lite 5G – What Else We Know?
As per previous reports, Google’s Play Supported Devices list revealed the V2644 and V2643 model numbers in connection with the Vivo V80 Lite 5G. Both devices reportedly use V2576 as their codename.
Interestingly, the same V2576 codename has also been linked to the Vivo S2. This connection has further fuelled speculation that the Vivo V80 Lite 5G could be a rebranded version of the S2 or a closely related smartphone.
However, Vivo has not officially confirmed that the two phones are the same device.
The upcoming Vivo V80 Lite 5G has also reportedly appeared on other certification and benchmark platforms recently, which suggests that the phone could be getting closer to launch.
