Yellow Class collaborates with Silver Medalist Srikanth Kidambi

Edtech platform Yellow Class announced its partnership with Srikanth Kidambi, World Champion Silver Medalist. The free coursework contains five sessions on badminton, introducing the sport with all the essential rules necessary for a kid to play. The course session is about 2 hours long, explaining the rules, body posture, footwork, injury prevention, strokes, and unique aspects of Srikanth’s game.

Children are keen learners, and they thrive when they feel a sense of accomplishment and success through cognitive skills. One of the most effective ways to improve children’s success is by engaging in sports.

Sports helps kids stay focused. With a lot of energy to burn and fun elements involved, many children love playing sports because it gives them a feeling of belongingness and competitiveness.

Arpit Mittal, Cofounder and CTO said, “We want kids to have fun on the Yellow Class platform. With this collaboration, we want to go a step forward, creating a platform where kids can learn something while having fun rather than spending hours binge-watching useless content! The platform enhances and develops the creative passion and helps kids discover themselves. Sports play an important role in helping kids with cognitive skills. More than anything, we want kids to discover their liking and interests through exploration. We are glad to announce that we have Srikanth Kidambi as a part of the platform.”

Srikanth Kidambi shared his excitement on the collaboration saying, “It is a pleasure to teach kids through Yellow Class. Seeing the huge potential of Indians, I wish to add more value by mentoring kids at an early age. I understand the importance of a role model and a good Coach and I am glad to be collaborating with Yellow Class to be the same to the young kids out there. Looking forward to fun-filled badminton lessons on Yellow Class. See you all soon.”

Additionally, Yellow class is also collaborating with celebrities and creating free programs like Singing with Shaan, Cooking with Masterchef Ripu, Yoga with Vidya Malvade and Ramayana with Shri Arun Govil Ji. The reasons for bringing these celebrities to mentor kids are many –

  1. These are role models for a lot of kids
  2. They have years of experience in their domain and are masters of their skills
  3. These celebrities look for opportunities to mentor kids as they understand the importance of a mentor at an early age.

The platform has been able to retain the kids since they have fun on the platform and aren’t forced to learn anything. It has showcased disruptive growth and focuses on deeper consumer engagement by gamifying the experience for kids. Additionally, the brand has a user base in over 52 countries with more than 2 million parents being a part of the community.

The startup aims to captivate children in various disciplines and offers programs in dance, GK, yoga, arts and crafts in interactive classes and workshops through, Podcasts, Stories, DIY sessions. Furthermore, it had raised $6 million in a Series A funding round led by Elevation Capital in August 2021. A clutch of angel investors — including Meesho’s co-founder Vidit Aatrey and PropTiger CEO Dhruv Agarwala — and existing investors India Quotient, Titan Capital & First Cheque participated in the fundraise.
