Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max Debuts in China With Xuanjie O3 Chip, 144Hz Display and 12,000mAh Battery

Xiaomi has officially launched the Pad 9 Pro Max in China as its latest flagship tablet, alongside Xiaomi 18 Foldable. The new pad introduces the brand’s Xuanjie O3 chip to the tablet segment for the first time and packs up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, 120W fast charging, eight speakers and support for Wi-Fi 7. Here are all the details about Xiaomi’s new flagship tablet.

The Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max features a large 13.3-inch LCD screen with a 3408 × 2272 resolution. The display uses a 3:2 aspect ratio and supports a 144Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and animations. The panel can reach up to 1,000 nits of brightness and supports both HDR10 and Dolby Vision for improved viewing quality with compatible content.

Pad 9 Pro Max is the first tablet to feature the Xuanjie O3 chip. The processor is built using TSMC’s 3nm process and contains 24 billion transistors across a 133mm² die. The CPU uses a 10-core configuration comprising two C1-Ultra cores clocked at up to 4.35GHz, four C1-Premium cores running at up to 3.68GHz and four C1-Pro cores reaching 3.15GHz. Graphics are handled by a 16-core Mali-G2-Ultra GPU, while a four-core NPU delivers up to 200 TOPS of AI performance.

Xiaomi has equipped the tablet with LPDDR5X RAM, while the highest-end 16GB+1TB configuration gets CXMT’s LPDDR6 memory with a speed of 10,667Mbps.

The tablet also uses a substantial cooling system to manage the heat generated by its flagship hardware. It features a 3,038mm² VC liquid cooling system along with a 10,112mm² graphite sheet. Xiaomi has also included its Surge P3 and Surge G1 chips.

For photography and video calls, the tablet comes with a 32-megapixel front-facing camera. At the back, Xiaomi has equipped it with a 50-megapixel rear camera.

Battery life is another major highlight of the Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max. The tablet packs a huge 12,000mAh battery and supports 120W wired fast charging. According to Xiaomi, the tablet can go from 0 to 100 percent charge in just 53 minutes. It also supports 27W wired reverse charging allowing the Pad 9 Pro Max to provide power to other compatible devices. The tablet runs Surge OS 4 based on Android 17.

Despite housing a large battery and powerful hardware, the Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max measures just 5.67mm in thickness. The standard version weighs 645 grams, while the Soft Light Edition is slightly heavier at 653 grams. Other features include fingerprint-based unlocking and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity.

The audio setup consists of eight speakers and six microphones. For wired connectivity, the tablet gets a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port and supports DP-in video input. Xiaomi has also added support for using the tablet as a rear smart screen in compatible Xiaomi cars.

The Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max starts at 4,799 yuan for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration. This price is approximately equivalent to $715, ₹67,531, €615 and £529. The 12GB+256GB variant costs 5,299 yuan, while the 16GB+256GB model is priced at 5,799 yuan. The 12GB+512GB version costs 6,099 yuan, and the 16GB+512GB configuration is priced at 6,599 yuan.

Xiaomi has also launched Soft Light versions of the tablet. The 16GB+512GB Soft Light Edition costs 6,899 yuan, while the top-end 16GB+1TB Soft Light model is priced at 7,899 yuan.

Xiaomi is offering the tablet in Rich Wine Red, Silver and Black colour options.
