Xiaomi has finally announced the global release of its new operating system based on Android 15, HyperOS 2.

After the recent debut in China with the Xiaomi 15 series, the new OS update will roll out to a wide user base in batches in the next few weeks.

Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun revealed the timeline of the global rollout in a post shared on X (formerly Twitter).

Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming rollout of the new Xiaomi operating system update.

HyperOS 2.0 Update – What to Expect?

Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2.0 has been designed for the AI-driven future. It introduces major upgrades in performance, connectivity, AI tools and privacy features. The fresh desktop interface features customisable widgets, fluid dynamic animations and a stunning 3D weather system.

HyperOS 2 comes with HyperCore, which is Xiaomi’s optimised in-house kernel. It promises an overall speed boost, minimum CPU idle time and enhanced graphics performance, making the system ideal for both everyday use and gaming.

The operating system update also features HyperConnect, which enables smooth data and app transfers across Xiaomi devices.

It also introduces compatibility with Apple products in China allowing file sharing between Xiaomi and Apple devices for the first time.

Moreover, HyperAI offers advanced features like adaptive lock screens, AI Anti-Fraud protection and advanced content creation tools such as voice-to-text transcription and real-time translation.

Xiaomi has put privacy as one of its top priorities and added features like end-to-end encryption, a Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) for secure data handling and enhanced data control through the Xiao Ai assistant.

As per reports, the Xiaomi 6S Pro 12.4 and the Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Pro will get the new operating system in November.
