The Xiaomi 18 series may still be a few months away from its official debut but leaks around the lineup continue to gain momentum. Recently, a leak coming from China revealed some key specifications about the upcoming smartphone. And now, fresh details about the Xiaomi 18 Pro have emerged including new renders that reveal its rear design and a dedicated AI button.
According to images shared by a tipster Leo Hefeng @leo_hefeng on X, the Xiaomi 18 Pro is expected to retain a triple rear camera setup along with a secondary display on the back similar to its predecessor, the Xiaomi 17 Pro.
One of the standout additions in the new renders is a dedicated AI button that is expected to be positioned on the side of the device.
As per the post on X, this AI button will be customisable enabling users to launch AI features “in any situation.” It is also said to support smart home controls and may even integrate with compatible Xiaomi electric vehicles. Earlier reports have also hinted at an “AI-powered smart window” that is believed to bring enhanced AI functionalities to the rear display.
These renders are still in the early stages and may not represent the final product. However, they align with earlier reports indicating that the rear display feature is likely to continue.
Recently, well-known tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo shared key specifications of the Xiaomi 18 Pro. The smartphone is also expected to bring a flagship-grade design along with new stacking technology aimed at enhancing overall performance.
According to the post, the device is tipped to pack a battery with a capacity of at least 7,000mAh or more marking a notable upgrade over the 6,300mAh battery found in the Xiaomi 17 Pro. It is also expected to support 100W wired charging along with wireless charging capabilities similar to the current model that offers 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging.
On the camera front, the Xiaomi 18 Pro is rumoured to feature a “large dual 200-megapixel” camera system alongwith telephoto and macro capabilities. This would be a significant improvement compared to the Xiaomi 17 Pro equipped with a triple camera setup comprising a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 50-megapixel telephoto lens and another 50-megapixel sensor.
Previous reports suggest that Xiaomi could unveil the Xiaomi 18 Pro along with the standard Xiaomi 18 and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max in September this year. The lineup is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 SoC.
