Xiaomi is gearing up to launch its flagship Xiaomi 16 series later this month, which is expected to include the Xiaomi 16, Xiaomi 16 Pro, and Xiaomi 16 Pro Max. Ahead of the official reveal, alleged specifications of the standard Xiaomi 16 have surfaced online by a famous tipster Yogesh Brar on X (formerly Twitter). Here’s what we know.
According to the leak, the Xiaomi 16 will feature a 6.3-inch LTPO OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. On the back, the phone is tipped to house a triple-camera system consisting of a 50MP OmniVision primary sensor, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 50MP telephoto camera powered by Samsung’s ISOCELL JN5 sensor. For selfies, the device is expected to include a 32MP front camera.
Performance-wise, the handset will reportedly run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and pack a massive 7,000mAh battery with 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging support. Other rumored highlights include IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, and HyperOS 3 out of the box.
Earlier, well-known tipster Ice Universe shared renders of the Xiaomi 16, showcasing bold design changes with slimmer bezels, rounded corners, and a redesigned front aesthetic. The device is said to use LIPO technology to achieve what may be the thinnest bezels ever seen on a smartphone.
The renders also reveal a smaller punch-hole camera and extremely rounded display corners, described as “the roundest corners in smartphone history.”
While these details paint an exciting picture of Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship, it’s worth noting that the specs are not yet confirmed. The official announcement is expected in just over two weeks, where Xiaomi will unveil the entire 16 series lineup.
