The Xiaomi 15 series including the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro was introduced in China in October earlier this year. However, the highly anticipated Xiaomi 15 Ultra is still under wraps.
According to the latest leaks, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is expected to debut in China by late February 2025 featuring top-of-the-line specs including a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and a 50MP primary camera sensor. Like the other models in the series, the device is expected to run Android 15-based HyperOS 2.0 out of the box.
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is rumoured to launch in China on February 28, 2025, according to tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo.
Another tipster Smart Pikachu has hinted at significant camera upgrades including an improved macro sensor, a larger aperture for enhanced light capture and better low-light telephoto performance.
The phone is expected to feature a 1-inch 50MP primary camera, a 50MP ultra-wide lens and a 50MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. Completing the quad-camera setup might be a 200MP telephoto sensor offering up to 4.3x optical zoom, showcasing Xiaomi’s focus on cutting-edge mobile photography.
Other rumoured highlights include IP68 and IP69 certifications for water and dust resistance, wireless charging support and a 5,000mAh battery similar to its predecessor the Xiaomi 14 Ultra.
While there’s no official confirmation yet, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra’s listing on BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) suggests an Indian launch might be around the corner.
Following the Xiaomi 14 Ultra’s global February 2024 debut and subsequent March Indian launch, a similar timeline is likely for the 15 Ultra.
In terms of pricing, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra was launched in India at ₹99,999 for its 16GB RAM and 512GB storage variant. The Xiaomi 15 Ultra may follow a similar pricing strategy, making it a premium offering for 2025.
