Indian Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra surprised fans on Sunday by announcing his marriage to Himani Mor, a tennis player and gold medalist in her own right. The couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony held in Himachal Pradesh, attended by 40-50 close guests.
Neeraj shared the news on social media with heartwarming pictures from the event captioned “Grateful for every blessing that brought us to this moment together. Bound by love, happily ever after.”
The two-time Olympic medallist asked fans for their support and blessings.
Himani Mor (25) is a talented tennis player from Sonipat Haryana. She attended Little Angels School before pursuing her higher education. She is currently working toward a Master’s Degree in Sports Management at Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire, USA.
Before that, she completed her undergraduate degree in Political Science and Physical Education at Delhi’s Miranda House.
Himani has an impressive tennis career. She represented India at the 2017 World University Games in Taipei and won a gold medal at the 2016 World Junior Tennis Championship in Malaysia, according to her school’s website.
Her tennis career includes a career-best national ranking of 42 in singles and 27 in doubles in 2018, as per the All India Tennis Association (AITA) website. She started competing in AITA events in 2018. Himani also works as an assistant coach for women’s tennis at Amherst College in Massachusetts, balancing her studies with her passion for the sport.
Himani’s brother Himanshu is also a tennis player. The couple’s wedding was kept low-key with Neeraj’s paternal uncle Bhim Chopra confirming the details from their village in Khandra near Panipat, Haryana.
“The marriage took place in India two days back. The girl is from Sonipat, and she is studying in the US. They have left the country for their honeymoon, but I am not aware of the places they are going,” he said.
With both Neeraj and Himani excelling in their respective sports, the couple embodies passion, dedication and achievement. Fans are thrilled to see this power couple embark on their journey together.
