WhatsApp is testing a new Home Screen widget that makes it easier to interact with Meta AI. This feature allows users to start AI chats, share images and even use voice commands directly from their Home Screen. Once available, there will be no need for WhatsApp users to manually open WhatsApp.

Some beta testers have already received this feature in the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.6.14 update, available on the Google Play Store. The update about the feature was shared by trusted WhatsApp Beta source WABetaInfo.

The new Meta AI widget is resizable, meaning users can adjust its size based on their preference. It also comes with three shortcuts for quick access to essential AI features, which include the instant chat with Meta AI, Photo Sharing and Voice Interaction.

To access instant chat, users can tap to open a conversation with Meta AI and get instant responses to the questions. For photo Sharing, send images directly to Meta AI, which can analyse, understand and even edit them based on user requests. And as for voice interaction, users can simply start a voice-based session with Meta AI instead of typing, making hands-free interactions easier.

Right now, this widget is only available to users who already have Meta AI chat enabled within WhatsApp. Since AI-powered chats are still limited to specific regions and users, not everyone will see the widget immediately. However, Meta is gradually expanding access to more users worldwide.

If you’re a WhatsApp beta tester, keep an eye out for this update! The feature is rolling out to more users in the coming weeks.
