Vivo appears to be preparing the global rollout of its Y-series smartphone, the Vivo Y500. The handset was first introduced in China last year and has now been spotted on the Bluetooth SIG certification platform. This indicates that it could soon launch in international markets including India. Here are more details.
The Vivo Y500 has appeared on the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) certification website carrying the model numbers V2627, V2634, and V2635.
The multiple model numbers associated with the smartphone suggesting that Vivo may be planning to introduce different variants of the device across various regions.
While the certification does not reveal any hardware specifications, it confirms Bluetooth connectivity across all listed variants. The appearance of multiple model numbers indicates that Vivo could be working on several versions of the smartphone for markets outside China.
At present, it remains unclear whether the upcoming variants will support 4G or 5G connectivity. Additional certifications and leaks are expected to provide more clarity in the coming weeks.
Since the global model’s specifications have not yet been confirmed, the Chinese version offers an idea of what buyers can potentially expect.
The Vivo Y500 was launched in China in September last year with a starting price of CNY 1,399 (approximately Rs. 17,000) for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant.

For photography, the device comes equipped with a dual rear camera setup comprising a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the front, it houses an 8-megapixel selfie camera.
One of the standout features of the Vivo Y500 is its durability. The smartphone carries IP68, IP69, and IP69+ ratings for dust and water resistance. It is also backed by a large 8,200mAh battery with support for 90W wired fast charging.
