Vivo has added a new model to its Y29 series with the launch of the Vivo Y29s 5G. This smartphone joins the Y29 (4G) and Y29 (5G) models and is now listed on Vivo’s global website with full specifications. Here’s all we know about the phone based on information shared on Vivo’s website.
The Vivo Y29s 5G features a 6.74-inch LCD screen with a waterdrop notch. It offers a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels, a 90Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 570 nits.
Under the hood, it runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, built on a 6nm process. It comes with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of eMMC 5.1 storage, with support for up to 2TB via a microSD card.
For photography, the device sports a dual-camera setup on the back, led by a 50-megapixel primary sensor along with a 0.08MP auxiliary sensor.
On the front, there is a 5-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls. It runs on Funtouch OS 15, based on Android 15.
The phone packs a 5,500mAh battery with support for 15W charging. Security is handled by a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz/5GHz), Bluetooth 5.4, USB Type-C, and GPS. While NFC is available in some regions, it is not included in the Malaysian variant.
In terms of durability, the Vivo Y29s 5G is rated IP64 for dust and water resistance and comes with SGS and military-grade shock resistance. It measures 167.30 x 76.95 x 8.19mm and weighs 199 grams.
The price of the Vivo Y29s 5G has not been announced yet. It will be available in a single 8GB+256GB configuration and will come in two color options: Titanium Gold and Jade Green.
