After launching globally, Vivo has finally launched its premium smartphone X80 series in India. The smartphone maker today unveiled the Vivo X80 and Vivo X80 Pro smartphones. These phones are successor of the Vivo X70 series.

Featuring 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 80W fast charging support and Android 12 OS, the flagship smartphone is available at starting price of Rs 54,999.

Vivo claims to redefine the premium mobile photography in collaboration with ZEISS, the Vivo X80 offers 50 MP ultra-sensor IMX866 senor, MediaTek Dimesnity 9000 and pro-imaging chip V1+ which enables users to produce incredible night time image. The premium smartphone by Vivo also supports XDR Photo high dynamic range.

The Vivo X80 and Vivo X80 Pro feature the same 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, but the Vivo X80 Pro has a QHD+ resolution.

 The vanilla model is powered by the Dimensity 9000 chipset, while the Vivo X80 Pro comes with Snapdragon 8 Gen1 chipset on board.

AG glass and leatherback models with an IP68 rating (on the X80 Pro) are other specifications of the Vivo premium smartphone. Vivo X80 and Vivo X80 Pro is supported by 80W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging, respectively.

Pre-booking

Vivo has opened pre-booking for the Vivo X80 and Vivo X80 Pro. The sale will start on May 25 via Flipkart, Vivo e-store and retail stores. There is a discount of upto Rs 7,000 on HDFC Bank cards, besides a 10% cashback on pre-booking on certain cards.

Price and sale date

Launched in two storage variants, Vivo X80 costs Rs Rs 54,999 for its 8GB + 128GB model, while 12GB + 256GB model of the Vivo X80 is priced Rs 59,999. The Vivo X80 Pro carries the price tag of Rs 79,999 for the high-end 12GB + 256GB version.

Vivo X80 Pro has been launched in Cosmic Black colours while the vanilla X80 also is also available in Urban Blue colour options.

Specifications of Vivo X80

Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 processor paired with Mali-G710 10-core GPU, the Vivo X80 sports a 6.78-inch FHD+ E5 AMOLED display with 2400×1800 pixels resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, a 240Hz touch sampling rate, a 1,000nits brightness and MEMC.

It has 12GB RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. The phone boots Android 12 OS with Funtouch 12 custom skin out of the box.

It comes with a triple camera setup, including a 50MP Sony IMX866 primary sensor with OIS support, f/1.75 aperture, LED flash, a 12MP Sony IMX663 ultra-wide lens, and a 12MP 50mm telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom support. It has a 32MP front camera for selfies and video calls.

The 4,500mAh battery is supported by 80W fast charging. Coming to the connectivity features, the Vivo X80 has 5G, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS+GLONASS, and USB Type-C. The smartphone is equipped with an in-display fingerprint sensor for security, stereo speakers, and a USB Type-C port for charging and data sync. The phone measures 164.95×75.23×8.30mm and weighs 206 grams.

Vivo X80 Pro

A 6.78-inch QHD+ E5 10-bit AMOLED LTPO display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1000Hz instant touch sampling rate, and MEMC, Vivo X80 Pro ships with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor paired with Adreno GPU for graphics. It packs 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. The phone boots Android 12 with Funtouch 12 custom skin out of the box.

There is a 4,700mAh battery with 80W fast charging, 50W wireless charging, and 10W wireless reverse charging. The phone is equipped with an in-display fingerprint sensor for security, USB Type-C audio, and CS43131 Hi-Fi AMP, stereo speakers.

Connectivity features of Vivo X80 Pro include 5G, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS (L1+L5 Dual Band) + GLONASS, and USB Type-C.

With quad camera set up at the back, the Vivo X80 Pro’ camera include a 50MP Samsung GNV sensor, a 48MP ultra-wide lens, a 12MP 50mm 2X portrait shooter and gimbal stabilisation, and an 8MP periscope lens with 5x optical and 60x digital zoom support. The smartphone is equipped with a 32MP snapper at the front for selfies.
