Vivo is reportedly preparing to expand its upcoming flagship smartphone lineup with at least three new Zeiss camera phones this year. That’s not all. Some reports even claim the possibility of a fourth model as part of the series as well.
The lineup is expected to include the Vivo X500, X500 Pro, X500 Pro Max and X500e. Now, before we get any confirmation from official sources, new prototype images and information are now viral on Chinese social media revealing some of the expected differences in their designs and specifications.
Vivo X500 and Vivo X500 Pro Prototype Images
Currently, three images are viral on Weibo that appear to show the designs of the upcoming Vivo X500 series models.
The two images showing the Pro models do appear to be close to the real-life spy shots that surfaced from Australia last week. Based on these images, the Vivo X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max are expected to retain the familiar Zeiss camera design featuring a centrally positioned circular camera module.
The standard Vivo X500, meanwhile, is expected to use a smaller circular camera module positioned towards the left side of the rear panel. This design detail has reportedly been suggested by both Digital Chat Station and one of the leaked images.
It is important to note that the authenticity of these images remains uncertain. The heavily distorted Zeiss logo visible in the images suggests that AI upscaling may have been used. As a result, the images could show genuine prototypes but they could also be AI-generated fakes.
As noted by many enthusiast online, the image showing the standard X500 show two LED flashes with one placed inside the circular camera module and another on the camera platform to its right. There also appears to be a fourth camera in the upper-right corner, which does not seem to make much sense. These details could indicate that the image is an AI-generated fake.
Vivo X500 Series Display and Chipset Details
According to tipster Digital Chat Station, Vivo is expected to offer a wide range of display sizes across the X500 lineup. The Vivo X500 Pro could be the smallest model this year featuring a 6.37-inch display. At the opposite end, the Vivo X500 Pro Max is expected to feature a much larger 6.85-inch display.
The standard Vivo X500 is expected to sit between the two with a 6.59-inch display. All three models are tipped to feature flat AMOLED panels with rounded corners, although the more noticeable design differences are expected to be found on their rear panels.
The two Pro models are expected to be powered by MediaTek’s latest 2nm chipsets from the Dimensity 9600 family. The standard Vivo X500 could use a 3nm variant of the Dimensity 9500 chipset, helping it maintain a lower price compared to the Pro models.
Vivo X500 Series Tipped to Bring Major Camera and Video Upgrades
Another recent teaser also reveals details of a strong focus on camera and video performance in the upcoming Vivo X500 series models.
The lineup is tipped to feature Blueprint’s Light Control 900 sensor with the Pro models reportedly getting a Zeiss Ultra Dynamic Main Camera and 17EV ultra-high dynamic range. Video recording could see a major upgrade with cinema-grade capabilities, 4K 240fps slow-motion and 4K 120fps HDR video support.
The phones are also expected to offer gimbal-level image stabilisation, while the X500 Pro Max could feature 3° OIS and CIPA 7.0 stabilisation.
Vivo X500 Pro Max Specifications
Meanwhile, tipster TechHome on X has shared some expected camera specs of the Vivo X500 Pro Max. It is tipped to feature a 50-megapixel Sony LYTIA L910 primary sensor with a 1/1.28-inch sensor size and LOFIC technology. The main camera could be paired with a 200-megapixel Samsung telephoto sensor measuring 1/1.4-inch to offer around 3.5x optical zoom and an approximately 85mm focal length.
The smartphone is expected to use the Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset manufactured on a 2nm process. It could also feature Vivo’s self-developed imaging chips along with upgraded AI algorithms designed to improve portrait photography and telephoto enhancement.
The Vivo X500 Pro Max is also tipped to offer an upgraded video experience and support new teleconverters. On the imaging side, it could introduce Blueprint Color Palette, Blueprint Native Colours, and new film styles.
For video recording, the phone is expected to support 4K video at 120fps with 10-bit Log, slow-motion recording and Dolby Vision.

Launch Plans
Vivo is expected to introduce up to four new Zeiss camera flagship smartphones in the coming weeks. At least three of these models are also tipped to launch in international markets including India and Europe.
From a specifications and camera perspective, the Vivo X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max are expected to be the most advanced models. However, the standard Vivo X500 could be a more affordable option for buyers looking for a flagship experience.
The Vivo X500e is also expected to debut in China.
With the Vivo X500 series expected to be unveiled in the coming weeks, more information about the four models including their final designs, specifications and availability should emerge ahead of the official announcement.
