The Vivo X500 series is scheduled to launch in China on September 21 and it will be followed by the OPPO Find X10 lineup on September 22. We have been reporting on both upcoming flagship lineups for the past few weeks and a lot of key features have already been out in the open. Now, Vivo and OPPO have finally confirmed that their upcoming flagship smartphones will be powered by MediaTek’s new Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset. The Vivo X500 Pro Max and OPPO Find X10 Pro Max are among the first phones announced with the newly launched 2nm processor.
Vivo X500 Pro Max Specifications and Features
Vivo has partnered with MediaTek on several display, camera and video-related technologies for the X500 Pro Max. The Dimensity 9600 Pro uses a dual super-large-core CPU design, while the two companies have also worked on chip-level AP Demura 2.0 correction. According to Vivo, this technology helps reduce uneven brightness across the screen at the chip level and is connected to the 2K display already confirmed for the X500 Pro Max.
The chipset also supports AP-level multi-frame motion smear compensation, which is designed to reduce blur while capturing fast-moving subjects.
Video recording is another major focus. The X500 series will offer professional Log video recording through the chip, allowing the phone to capture 4K video at 120fps with 10-bit Log output directly. An external recorder will not be required.
Vivo will pair the Dimensity 9600 Pro with its own Blueprint imaging chip. This combination enables 4K Dolby Vision portrait video, which Vivo describes as an industry first.
The company is also introducing XDZ, a new technology for upscaling video at high magnification. Vivo says the X500 Pro series will be the first smartphones globally to feature the Dimensity 9600 Pro.
That distinction will only last briefly, however, as the Vivo X500 series is set to officially launch on September 21.
OPPO Find X10 Pro Max Specifications and Features
The OPPO Find X10 Pro Max will also use the 2nm Dimensity 9600 Pro but OPPO is focusing on software optimisation to make better use of the chipset’s performance.
The phone introduces a new-generation Tide Engine, which can dynamically shift resources between high-frame-rate gaming and on-device AI workloads. OPPO is also using its Falcon Scheduler to manage demanding camera functions alongside heavy performance tasks.
According to OPPO, these technologies allow the Find X10 Pro Max to record 4K video at 60fps for extended periods while also supporting up to eight hours of full-frame-rate gaming in demanding games.
The phone will also feature an 8,000mAh Glacier Battery with an energy density of 867Wh/L. The battery uses OPPO’s self-developed spherical silicon-carbon technology, combined with the company’s battery health algorithms and charging technology.
OPPO says the battery is designed to maintain good health for up to five years. This is intended to limit the long-term degradation that can be a concern with large-capacity batteries.
