A fresh leak has given us a good look at what Vivo is cooking up for its upcoming flagship the Vivo X300 Pro. The main highlight is an ambitious new camera setup featuring Sony’s latest 200MP sensor. Here’s what we know so far.

Vivo X300 Pro – Camera Details (leaked)

According to a source familiar with Vivo’s hardware plans as reported in the Gizchina report, the X300 Pro will pack three rear cameras. These could be a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide, and a massive 200MP periscope telephoto lens built around Sony’s brand-new LYT-828 CMOS sensor.

But this isn’t just about packing more megapixels. The LYT-828 is a 1/1.4-inch sensor, unusually large for a periscope lens. While it’s not quite as big as the 1-inch LYT-900, Sony claims it delivers better dynamic range, reportedly exceeding 100dB in internal testing.

That’s thanks to Hybrid Frame-HDR, a tech that combines Dual Conversion Gain and Variable Shutter to help capture more detail in highlights and shadows, even in tricky lighting.

The sensor also features UHCG (Ultra High Conversion Gain), which improves noise performance in low-light scenes. Built on a 22nm process, it supports Quad Phase Detection (QPD) autofocus, allowing every pixel to help with focusing. In real terms, that means the camera should be able to lock focus quickly and accurately, even when subjects are far away, moving, or in low light.

Vivo is also reportedly introducing a new lens coating designed to reduce optical distortion. While exact details weren’t shared, it could mean less lens flare, sharper edges, or clearer shots in general. And yes, when asked if the periscope camera will support macro mode, the insider simply said: “Of course it does.”

Powering the X300 Pro will be MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500, which makes sense given that the previous model ran on the Dimensity 9400. So expect flagship-level performance to match the ambitious camera hardware.
