It seems Vivo is readying a performance-enhanced follow-up to its X100 series phones.
A Vivo product manager has taken to Weibo to tease the imminent launch of the Vivo X100s, powered by MediaTek’s overclocked Dimensity 9300+ chipset.
According to Boxiao Han, the Vivo X100s will feature the Dimensity 9300+ SoC which ups the clock speed of the prime Cortex-X4 CPU core to 3.4GHz for even better performance.
Han also claims the 9300+ delivers improved AI processing capabilities compared to the standard Dimensity 9300 found in the existing X100 and X100 Pro models.
To showcase the uplift, Han shared several benchmark results highlighting the Dimensity 9300+’s prowess.
In AnTuTu, the Vivo X100s achieved an impressive overall score of 1,230,267 points.
It scored 538,809 in CPU tests, 940,944 in GPU, 472,337 in memory, and 353,177 in UX.
Those are some impressive numbers that should translate to snappy performance across the board, from gaming to AI computational photography.
Speaking of which, Han also teased the X100s’ AI image editing capabilities by sharing four edited photos alongside an original unedited one.
Other than the new flagship Dimensity silicon, the Vivo X100s is expected to retain most of the same specifications as the existing X100 lineup.
Though some design tweaks like a flat frame could give it a slightly refreshed look.
With this benchmark reveal, it seems Vivo is setting the stage for the X100s’ launch likely sometime next month.
The amped-up Dimensity 9300+ processor looks poised to provide a nice performance boost to keep the X100 series competitive against 2024’s best Android flagships.
