It appears Vivo is gearing up to release another addition to its V-series lineup, as the unannounced Vivo V40 Lite has recently paid visits to several key certification authorities.
These regulatory stops are usually among the final hurdles before a device can hit the market.
The Vivo V40 Lite, carrying the model number V2341, was discovered in the Bluetooth SIG database with support for Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity.
Additionally, the same model number popped up in the Global Certification Forum (GCF) database earlier this month.
The GCF listing revealed the V40 Lite will be 5G capable, with support for a wide range of 5G bands including n1, n2, n3, n5, n8, n20, n28, n38, n40, n41, n66, n77, and n78.
While the certification listings refer to the device simply as the “V40 Lite,” rumors suggest the full marketing name will be the Vivo V40 Lite 5G when it launches.
The device is expected to serve as a successor to last year’s Vivo V30 Lite 5G that debuted in Mexico.
Unfortunately, other key specs about the Vivo V40 Lite remain tightly under wraps for now.
However, devices typically appear in certification databases like Bluetooth SIG around a month prior to their official announcements.
So the V40 Lite could be mere weeks away from an unveiling if Vivo adheres to the typical schedule.
Alongside the V40 Lite, Vivo has also already launched the V40 SE 5G in certain markets.
That model sports a large 6.67-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chip, triple rear cameras topped by a 50MP main sensor, and a 5,000mAh battery with 44W charging.
The V40 Lite will likely cut some corners on specs and pricing compared to the V40 SE.
As Vivo expands its mid-range V-series with models like the V40 Lite and V40 SE, it will be interesting to see what upgrades may be in store for the true flagship V40 series expected later this year.
Smartphone makers are pulling out all the stops in 2024, so the V40 lineup could bring some serious heat.
