Vivo is preparing to expand its T5 5G smartphone lineup in India with the launch of a new model. The company has already introduced three phones in the series including the Vivo T5 Lite 5G, Vivo T5 Pro 5G and Vivo T5x 5G. It appears the upcoming Vivo T5 5G will soon become the latest addition to the lineup in India.
Vivo T5 5G India Launch Confirmed
Vivo has started teasing the Vivo T5 5G with a dedicated microsite on Flipkart and confirmed that the smartphone will launch in India soon. While Vivo has not revealed the exact launch date yet, the company has started teasing some of the phone’s key features.
According to the teaser, the Vivo T5 5G will run on OriginOS and feature a GenAI-ready NPU designed to deliver faster AI performance. The smartphone is also teased as having the segment’s slimmest 3D curved display. It will have an ultra-slim body measuring just 0.799cm in thickness.
The Vivo T5 5G is expected to be positioned between the T5 Pro and T5x in the company’s lineup. Based on the disclaimer included in the teaser, the upcoming smartphone is expected to be priced below Rs 40,000.
Notably, Vivo T5 Pro 5G recently received a major price increase. The phone was launched in April at a starting price of Rs 29,999 but is now priced at Rs 41,999. Meanwhile, the Vivo T5x 5G starts at Rs 24,999.
Vivo T5 5G Could Compete With iQOO Z11
As per reports, the iQOO Z11 could be one of the key rivals for the upcoming Vivo T5 5G as it was launched in the same sub-Rs 40,000 price segment. While there are currently no confirmed specifications for the Vivo T5 5G, the iQOO smartphone provides an indication of the kind of hardware Vivo could offer in this segment.
The iQOO Z11 features a curved 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7500 Turbo chipset. It also packs a 7,050mAh battery and has a 50-megapixel primary camera along with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. The phone further offers IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance and runs OriginOS 6 based on Android 16.
Vivo is expected to announce the official launch date of the T5 5G soon. The company could also reveal more specifications and features through additional teasers in the coming days.
