The Vivo S70 has surfaced in a new leak revealing details about its display, processor and camera hardware ahead of its expected launch in China. According to tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the smartphone could feature a 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED display, a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset and a 64-megapixel Sony periscope telephoto camera. Vivo S70 Series May Feature a 6.59-Inch 1.5K OLED Display
According to the leak, the Vivo S70 could feature a 6.59-inch flat OLED display with a 1.5K resolution. The panel is tipped to use low-temperature polycrystalline silicon (LTPS) technology with Visionox reportedly serving as the display supplier.
The reported screen size is the same as that of the Vivo S60. However, Vivo has not confirmed the display specifications or the panel supplier yet.
Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 Chipset Tipped for Vivo S70 Series
The Vivo S70 is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset. This would be an upgrade over the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor used in the Vivo S60.
The newer chipset could bring improvements in processing performance, gaming and power efficiency, depending on how Vivo implements and optimises the hardware. However, the company has not officially confirmed the processor or shared any performance details.
Vivo S70 Series Could Get a 64MP Sony Periscope Camera
The camera system could be one of the more notable upgrades in the upcoming Vivo S70.
3x Optical Zoom Could Be Included
Digital Chat Station claims that the smartphone will feature a 64-megapixel Sony LYT-610 periscope telephoto camera with approximately 3x optical zoom.
For comparison, the Vivo S60 features a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. If the leak is accurate, the S70 could offer a higher-resolution telephoto sensor while retaining a similar optical zoom range.
2.35x Teleconverter Support Also Expected
Vivo is also reportedly working on an external teleconverter accessory for the S70. Such an accessory could extend the camera’s reach, allowing users to photograph distant subjects with greater magnification.
Vivo has previously offered teleconverter accessories with its X-series flagship smartphones. An earlier leak from tipster Smart Pikachu suggested that one mid-range smartphone launching in November would feature a large-sensor periscope camera with teleconverter support. The latest information raises the possibility that the Vivo S70 could be that device.
However, neither the teleconverter accessory nor its compatibility with the S70 has been officially confirmed.
