Twitter may soon allow to send DM from timeline

To make it easier to reply directly to a tweet’s author from the timeline, Twitter is testing a direct message (DM) icon on tweets. Twitter has decided to make it simpler to reply directly to a tweet’s author via DM. Users can limit who can DM them. Setting, plus quality filters, applies to all DMs. “We learned a lot about the types of replies you don’t find relevant and we’re expanding this test –– more of you on web and soon iOS and Android will have the option to use reply downvoting (sic),” tweets, Twitter Support.
