After testing the Circle feature with a limited group, the micro-blogging site Twitter has now started offering the new feature to more users. According to the latest update, the new feature by Twitter let users choose up to 150 people to share the tweet with them. This feature looks similar to the ‘Close Friends’ feature offered by Instagram.
You need to update your Twitter app or head to Twitter in a web browser to check if you have access to Twitter Circle or not. While composing the tweet, you will be able to notice a dropdown menu that reads Everyone. In the dropdown menu, you will be able to find other options including ‘People you follow’ or ‘only people you mention’ to choose who can reply to this tweet.
The availability of the Circle feature allows users to limit their tweets to a select audience, or they can hit Edit to add or remove people from their Circle. Any notification will not be sent by Twitter if users add or remove anyone from the Circle.
Those included in the circle will not be able to retweet anything you post to it, but they can still screenshot and download your tweets. Twitter’s community guidelines will continue to be in place even if you are sharing your tweets with a smaller audience.
