TSSC, Duranc to setup skill center for futuristic courses on Remote Surveillance, AI, IoT

Telecom Sector Skill Council (TSSC) in collaboration with Duranc Tech Services Private Limited today announced setting up of Skill Centres at the Duranc Centre in Hyderabad and NIT Patna for training in remote surveillance and allied technologies. They signed MoU outlining the roles and responsibilities of each organization for creating training modules, and mapping job roles in this segment.

The skill centres are being setup at the Duranc HO in Hyderabad and in NIT Patna and will cater to roles in Information and Communications Technology (ICT), remote surveillance services, data-driven surveillance analytics and allied fields. This includes job roles for Surveillance system installations, Machine Learning (ML), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Internet of Thing (IoT) among others. The MoU focuses on providing skilling/reskilling/upskilling for aspiring candidates thereby enhancing their employability through training in innovative technologies. This includes identifying additional centres across India to facilitate smooth training. The CoE will also run a ‘Train the Trainer/Assessor’ program for certifying trainers and assessors.

“This is the right time to invest in capacity building for jobs like remote surveillance which leverages futuristic technologies like AI and IoT. More than 15,00,000 cameras have already been proposed/installed across various cities in India. Initiatives like Smart cities will run their advanced solutions that incorporate video analytics, facial recognition, night vision cameras, and high-definition Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) cameras through smartly connected camera and sensor systems. Soon, more cities will release mandates for camera installations. We need to have the workforce ready for installing, operating, and maintaining these large systems efficiently,” said Arvind Bali, CEO, TSSC.
