Tecno has officially launched the Tecno POP X 5G in India and expanded its budget 5G smartphone lineup. The new device arrives shortly after the launch of the Spark 50 5G and shares a similar design language and hardware specifications.
Speaking on the launch, Mr. Arijeet Talapatra, CEO, TECNO Mobile India, said, “We wanted to build a smartphone that truly keeps up with how people use their devices today – always on the move and constantly connected. Here’s a complete look at the price, availability and specifications of the newly launched Tecno POP X 5G.
The Tecno POP X 5G is priced at ₹15,999 for the 4GB RAM with 128GB storage variant, while the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage model is available for ₹17,999.
The smartphone will go on sale starting April 24 and will be available exclusively via Amazon India.
In terms of specifications, the Tecno POP X 5G features a large 6.78-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 720 x 1576 pixels. The screen supports a 120Hz refresh rate, a 240Hz touch sampling rate and offers up to 560 nits of brightness ensuring a smooth and responsive viewing experience.
The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chipset built on a 6nm process. It features an octa-core CPU setup with two Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.5GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores running at 2GHz along with the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU for graphics performance.
The device comes in 4GB and 6GB LPDDR4x RAM options paired with 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. Users can further expand storage up to 2TB using a microSD card. It supports a triple slot setup with dual nano SIM cards and a dedicated microSD slot.
The Tecno POP X 5G runs on Android 16 with HiOS 16 layered on top. For photography, the device includes a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, while the front houses an 8-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture. Security is handled by a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
Backing the device is a massive 6500mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging making it suitable for extended usage without frequent charging.
The smartphone comes with IP64 Pro-rated dust and water resistance and retains a 3.5mm audio jack. In terms of design, it measures 167.9 x 79.3 x 8.18mm and weighs 210 grams.
Connectivity options on the device include support for 5G SA/NSA bands (n1, n3, n5, n8, n28B, n38, n40, n41, n48, n77, and n78), dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, and a USB Type-C port.
