At Mobile World Congress 2026, Tecno Mobile expanded its AI-powered product ecosystem with a wide range of announcements. Leading the showcase was the launch of the Tecno Camon 50 Series, the successor to last year’s Camon 40 lineup. Alongside that, Tecno also introduced the POVA CURVE 2 5G, revealed a modular concept phone and announced a strategic collaboration with Tonino Lamborghini. Here are more details on all that is new in the Tecno world.
The Tecno Camon 50 Series includes two models, the Tecno Camon 50 Pro and the standard Tecno Camon 50. Both smartphones feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. Powering the devices is the MediaTek Helio G200 Ultimate chipset, and they run on Android 16 with Tecno’s HiOS 16 skin layered on top.
The Camon 50 Pro comes equipped with 16GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. The regular Camon 50 offers up to 12GB RAM and up to 256GB storage.
The Tecno Camon 50 Pro sports a triple rear camera system led by a 50-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS). It is accompanied by a 50-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera.
The standard Camon 50 also features a 50-megapixel main rear camera but without OIS support. It retains the same ultra-wide-angle shooter as the Pro variant. On the front, both smartphones are equipped with a 32-megapixel selfie camera.
Both handsets are backed by a 6,500mAh battery with 45W fast charging support. They include an in-display fingerprint sensor and AI-powered enhancements aimed at improving photography and overall system performance.
Connectivity features remain identical across both devices including NFC, an infrared remote control, and dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support.
In terms of colour options, the Camon 50 Pro is available in Moonshadow Black, Malachite Green, Nebula Titanium, Fir Green, Lavender Mist, and Ethereal Blue. Meanwhile, the Camon 50 is offered in Moonshadow Black, Malachite Green, Nebula Titanium, Fir Green, Lavender Mist, and Cream Mint finishes.
The highlight of the POVA 8 Series is the Tecno POVA CURVE 2 5G. The standout feature is its massive 8,000mAh battery packed inside a slim 7.42mm body, which Tecno claims is the largest battery ever offered in the POVA lineup.
The device runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 5G chipset and features a 144Hz curved AMOLED display. It also carries an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance. According to the company, the battery is engineered for a six-year lifespan.
More details are expected to be out as the phone approaches a formal launch day.
Beyond smartphones, Tecno announced a strategic partnership with Tonino Lamborghini. The collaboration is built around combining advanced technology with luxury lifestyle design aesthetics. Tecno stated that exclusive co-branded editions will roll out across multiple product categories.
The first product from this partnership is the Tonino Lamborghini Tecno Taurus (Mega Mini G1 Pro), which the company claims is the world’s smallest water-cooling gaming PC. It is designed to deliver high performance in a compact form factor.
Following this, Tecno plans to launch the Tecno Pova Metal Tonino Lamborghini Limited Edition smartphone with further expansion expected into a broader AIoT ecosystem.
Tecno also showcased experimental technologies including its Modular Magnetic Interconnection Technology. This concept envisions smartphones that can be upgraded using swappable magnetic components such as external battery packs and specialised camera lenses.
Additionally, the brand introduced the Pova Ecosystem concept, presenting an integrated gaming suite that includes the Pova Metal smartphone, dedicated gaming controllers, and matching earphones.
On the software front, Tecno unveiled its Edge-Side AIGC (Artificial Intelligence Generated Content) Preview technology. Developed in collaboration with Arm, the feature aims to eliminate screen flickering and lag typically associated with real-time AI filters.
