Realme 8s 5G, Realme 8i launched in India
Realme India has refreshed its Realme 8 series with the newly launched Realme 8s 5G and Realme 8i. These smartphones come with a hole-punch display design, carry triple rear cameras, and a 16-megapixel front camera for selfies. In terms of design, both the smartphones take inspiration from the existing Realme 8 lineup and come in two color options each. Realme 8s 5G price in India has been set at Rs 17,999 for 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. The phone also comes in 8GB RAM + 128GB storage configuration that is priced at Rs 19,999. In contrast, the Realme 8i carries a price tag of Rs 13,999 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant, while its 6GB RAM + 128GB model comes at Rs 15,999.
JioPhone Next to launch ahead of Diwali
JioPhone Next, which was slated to launch on September 10, 2021, will now be rolled out ahead of Diwali. The much awaited affordable smartphone is in advanced trials and its festive season roll-out will commence before Diwali, according to a statement by Jio. The company claims that JioPhone Next device and operating systems are expected to pack features associated with phones in the premium category such as great camera experience, voice-first features among others. The JioPhone Next was announced by Mukesh Ambani at Reliance Industries’ 44th Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Vivo X70 series launched in China
The Vivi X70 series – Vivo X70, Vivo X70 Pro, and Vivo X70 Pro+ have been launched in the company’s home country China. All three smartphones get different chipsets to power them. The Vivo X70’s 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant is priced at CNY 3,699 (roughly Rs 42,100), 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant will cost CNY 3,999 (roughly Rs 45,500), and CNY 4,299 (roughly Rs 49,000) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. The Vivo X70 Pro is priced at CNY 4,299 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, CNY 4,599 (roughly Rs 52,400) for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant, CNY 4,799 (roughly Rs 54,700) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant, and CNY 5,299 (roughly Rs 57,000) for the 12GB RAM + 512GB storage variant. The Vivo X70 Pro+ is priced at CNY 5,499 (roughly Rs 62,700) for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant, CNY 5,999 (roughly Rs 68,300) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant, and CNY 6,999 (roughly Rs 79,700) for the 12GB RAM + 512GB storage variant.
Facebook, Ray-Ban launches ‘Ray-Ban Stories’ smart glasses
Social media giant Facebook in collaboration with EssilorLuxottica and Ray-Ban unveiled its first smart glasses – called ‘Ray-Ban Stories’ – in hope to offer true augmented-reality spectacles. Facebook’s smart glasses have a built-in 5-megapixel camera, microphone, and speakers. The glasses will let wearers take calls, listen to music, capture up to 30-second videos and pictures, and upload them on Facebook’s services using the new Facebook View app. The smart glasses would start at $299 and will be available in 20 different style combination.
