Oppo Reno 6 5G goes on sale

Oppo’s recently launched Reno 6 5G went on sale and will be available via Flipkart and other retail stores. It sports a 6.5-inch full HD+ display and is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 900 SoC. The new handset comes only in one variant – 8GB RAM + 128GB storage which is priced at Rs 29,900. Also, buyers can get a cashback up to Rs 3,000 on ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank and Kotak Bank credit and debit cards on EMI transactions till July 31.

Huawei P50 Pro, Huawei P50 with 4G connectivity launched

Huawei P50 series is now official. The Chinese consumer technology giant launched two smartphones – Huawei P50 Pro and Huawei P50 in the Chinese market. Both the handsets sport unique capsule-like rear camera modules. The Pro model comes with two SoC variants — powered by Kirin 9000 and Snapdragon 888, which is aimed at different markets. The P50 Pro is priced at CNY 5,988 (approx Rs 68,800) for the 8GB + 128GB storage model, while the 8GB + 256GB storage option is priced at CNY 6,488 (approx Rs 74,500) and the 8GB + 512GB storage variant is priced at CNY 7,488 (approx Rs 86,000). The new Huawei P50 Pro will go on sale in China on August 12 and the P50 will go on sale in September.

Sundar Pichai writes to Google employees

Google CEO Sundar Pichai sent an e-mail to all the employees where he has outlined the plans of how they envision their return to offices. Pichai, in his mail, explained that vaccination is the reason why Google is feeling comfortable with opening their offices up for employees who want to return to work early. “It’s been great to see Googlers brainstorming around whiteboards and enjoying meals in cafes again in the many of offices that have already re-opened globally,” the India-born CEO said.

Sony has sold 10 million PS5 consoles

Sony has announced that, since its launch in November last year, it has sold more than 10 million PlayStation 5 units globally. Additionally, the company revealed that Returnal has sold more than 560,000 copies since its launch in April this year, while Spider-Man: Miles Morales has sold more than 6.5 million copies. Similarly, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart has sold more than 1.1 million copies since its launch last month.

Poco X3 GT to not launch in India, company confirms

Poco X3 GT will not launch in the Indian market. The news comes directly from Anuj Sharma, the POCO India Country Director. In a tweet, he said that “the brand already offers the POCO X3 Pro and POCO F3 GT in India in two segments. In such a case, the company does not feel the need to bring the POCO X3 GT and cause a confusion in the portfolio.” The new handset, recently launched in Malaysia and Vietnam, is a rebrand of the Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G that was launched in China in May.
