Netflix acquires game creator Night School Studio

Popular OTT platform Netflix has bought its first game developer Night School Studio and rolled out five mobile gaming titles in select European markets. The streaming giant announced the deal on its website. Night School Studio, best known for its debut game – Oxenfree – a supernatural teen thriller with an eerie soundtrack, confirmed the purchase separately on its own site, saying it is “a surreal honor to be the first game studio to join Netflix.”

Amazon Astro, Alexa-Enabled Robot Launched

Amazon recently held a fall event. The tech giant at the conference took wraps off many new products, such as – Alexa-powered home robot, the new Echo Show, a new smart thermostat, a new kid-friendly interactive device, a new fitness tracker, etc. The home robot is designed to take up tasks such as home monitoring, setting up routines and reminders, and can play TV shows and music while rolling around the house. It has digital eyes on rotating screen mounted on wheels and is available at an introductory invite-only price of $999.99 (Rs 74,190 approximately) and regular price of $1,449.99 (Rs 1.07 lakhs approximately).

The new range support Dolby Vision and HDR10 support, and also Dolby Atmos audio. The new smart TV models also run on Android 11 out-of-the-box, for games and apps, and come with 60W speakers.
