Telegram introduces new updates

Telegram has released an upgrade that includes enhanced message replies, video stickers, new interactive emojis, improved navigation, and bug fixes and enhancements. The app will now allow users to create animated stickers from videos. It has also improved how message reactions are displayed. Users will also be shown when their messages have received reactions. Furthermore, the instant messaging platform has added five more emojis to its interactive emojis roster.

Boat Immortal 700 gaming headphones launched

Boat has launched the Boat Immortal 700 gaming headphones. The new headphones join the company’s Immortal series that include Immortal 1000D, Immortal 1300, and Immortal 200 headphones. The price of new headphones in India is set at Rs 2,499. The audio gear primarily designed for gamers feature 50mm drivers and 7.1 virtual channel surround sound support. The headphones have a soft and comfy earmuff that is claimed to minimise sweat and offers a comfortable fit for extended usage.

Xiaomi leads smartphone market in India in 2021

A new report from Counterpoint has shared that the smartphone industry has witnessed 11 percent YoY growth to reach 169 million units in 2021. However, due to supply concerns, shipments fell by 8 percent YoY in the December quarter. In 2021, India’s smartphone market revenue surpassed $38 billion, up 27 percent year on year. Xiaomi dominated the market, accounting for 24 percent of all shipments. With 258 percent YoY increase, the brand also achieved its largest ever share in the premium segment (Rs 30,000). Samsung led the Rs 20,000-Rs 45,000 price segment with a 28 percent share. Chinese manufacturer OnePlus registered its highest ever shipments in India in 2021. It also led to the affordable premium segment (Rs 30,000-Rs 45,000).

Google to end unlimited WhatsApp backup

WhatsApp Android users will not be able to have an unlimited backup option on Google drive soon as a report suggests that Google might launch a paid plan. According to a report, users will soon have to buy storage for their WhatsApp chat backups on Google drive as the option for unlimited storage will not be available for Android users. Users of this instant messaging app currently have unlimited storage backup on Google Drive, but iPhone users already have limited storage backup on iCloud for WhatsApp chats.
