Introduction Rockstar Games constantly receives all the attention from the first installment of GTA to its latest and improved installment GTA 5. Grand Theft Auto has managed to create a wide fan base across the world with people playing it on different devices and always interested in the news related to it. After giving the world GTA 5 approximately 9 years ago, this open-world video game franchise has announced that its team has started working on the next installment of GTA, namely GTA 6. Moreover, the rumor has it the playable characters are also going to be unique this time, with a map that might as well be an acquainted ground to play Grand Theft Auto (GTA 6). THE “THANK YOU” PAGE FOR GTA V GOES LIVE The first sign of going to the next installment of GTA is when Rockstar Games released the “Thank You” page for GTA V. Acknowledging the massive success the players have given to the game and subtly indicating perhaps the ‘End of an era’ with the promise of continuing to entertain with the next installment, GTA 6. After the massive attraction gained by GTA V and the “THANK YOU” Page going viral to share the success with all people who worked on it and are associated with the game. Now the time is to move to the next phase and get the release date for GTA 6 why did its production get delayed? When can GTA 6 be rolled out? What’s with the delay? Rockstar Games confirmed the next installment of GTA in February 2022 by stating “next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series is well underway” through an official Newswire post. And reassuring the working on GTA 6 and directing all the investment and resources towards this game by June 2022. The earnest work in progress for GTA 6 directs the other projects, such as GTA 4 and Red Dead Redemption remaster, by Rockstar games will be taking a backseat. The year of release is yet not confirmed, let alone the date of release; however, Chris Klippel, a famous GTA leaker, who provided reliable and credible information in the past as well, has tipped toward the possible year of release of GTA 6. According to Klippel, GTA 6 does not seem to be released before the last months of 2024. All in all, asking the gamers to wait till the last months of 2024 or early months of 2025 for GTA 6 to roll out. Video game players have already waited for a decade for the new game to hit the floor, but they still need to wait for the next two years for the release of GTA 6. It is tipped by many reliable sources. The delay There has been some speculation and theories made in the past for the delay in the launch of GTA 6. And just like several other AAA video game title developments, GTA 6 also has got to see numerous aspects of progress and release. And in current years the outbreak of Covid-19 is among the crucial reasons affecting the delay in the launch and even made the company adopt new ways, rethink the company’s policy, and even reconstruct the team. The Other reason can be the massive success of GTA V for which Rockstar Games was still not ready to pull the plug on the game with the paramount revenue the game generated. Bringing the successor into the game while still gaining great monetary recognition from GTA V might not work great for the company. GTA 6 will come in 2024, thinks Microsoft During the acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft. And investigating the company’s market standing, Microsoft claimed that “the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI is expected to be released in 2024.” As the market share segment under investigation talks about Take-Two Interactive. That is the parent company of Rocket Games that develop GTA. Also because Microsoft is a proud owner and developer of Windows and Xbox, that can be said as among the major platforms for the next installment of the GTA game. And it won't be a surprise that the platform owners can have some inside knowledge of the intricate estimates of GTA 6. What can delay the launch of GTA VI As the massive security breach happened on the 18th of September, 2022. This setback hit Rockstar Games which resulted in the 90+ gameplay videos leak and the Source code of the pieces of the GTA 6 going public. Owing to this, it can be expected that the company pushes the release date even further. These actions have all the potential to adversely affect the company and the development process of GTA 6. Eventually, the delay to get on the floor with the damage control event in hand is an inevitable scenario. What will be the GTA 6 Supported Platforms? A Lot has changed and developed in the span of 10 years and the launch of GTA 5 and the potential launch of GTA 6. Since the gaming industry is thriving and advancing rapidly and Rockstar Games is known to initiate new trends, basically the pioneers of many trends. The changes can be expected based on the device support. It can be said PS4 won't be cutting in for GTA 6 and the initial release can happen on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Additionally, just with GTA 5, the developers might plan further to port the game for PC users as well. And that will indicate the idea that GTA 6 will be reaching its PC-owned audience late in 2025 only. Note this, these are all the assumptions, nothing is still confirmed by the developers. GTA 6 can be called “Grand Theft Auto” As Rockstar Games has stated that they are working towards the “next entry in the GTA franchise” and not addressing the upcoming installment as GTA 6. Many fans are making a valid and warranted assumption that Rockstar Games might use GTA 6 or the upcoming installment of GTA as the opportunity to restart the franchise. Maybe a Possible teaser for Grand Theft Auto There is a new car debuting in GTA 6. As Rockstar Games has tweeted the image that promotes and hints towards the new vehicle for GTA online users, where the fans have pointed out that in close observation, the image has the number ‘6’ that can be a new vehicle for GTA 6. However, it is just an assumption. Characters for GTA 6: Leaked If the news is to be believed, Rockstar games are planning to gain a good impression on the public and by curtailing the gender gap in GTA 6 they plan to do the same. The issue has been raised before as well and has been part of the debate for a long. Through this upcoming GTA franchise, Rockstar games are going to flip their image or maybe start to do so. After the GTA franchise was dominated by male leads, in GTA 6, developers are planning to introduce a Female protagonist that will be related to the male lead. Precisely a duo will be leading the story further. The leak of September 2022, has given some information on the characters. And it is leaked that the pair of main leads will be named Jason and Lucia with Bonnie and Clyde vibes. The characters will be having a standalone work but will be supporting each other with the storyline advancing and also are suspected to share some parts of the inventory. The Rumored Storyline of GTA 6 Some parts of the storyline have surfaced. One of the renowned gamers Tom Henderson has discussed the storyline and mentions the theory of GTA 6. It is believed phenomenon that GTA 6 will be set in modern-day Vice City instead of the ‘80s setup. The male and female leads will be related to each other and will be heavily inspired by the real-life crime couple, Bonnie and Clyde. As the story will be set in modern times and will be dealing with modern problems. Redditor in 2020 tipped that GTA 6 codename at the initial stage was “Project Americas,” implying the audience believes that the story will be moving over both American continents. The protagonists are teased to be building a drug empire, just like in the GTA Vice City Stories. GTA 6 MAP Assumption GTA 6 seems to make its tour back to vice city. This modern version of the vice city will be twice the time larger than the Los Santos of GTA 5. The game will be set in an imaginative and fictional place in Miami. And that now indicated that the game will be not only confined to Vice City but will be covering areas around it too. On the map speculation and the vast area given to play in GTA 6, YouTuber MrBossFTW states that Rockstar Games has employed VFX artists that will “help to immerse the player in a believable world, from using ambient effects for things like insects around the player and rain dripping off buildings up to large scale destruction events like skyscrapers crashing to the ground”. It is further also tipped and leaked that the campaign’s map will also be modified as DLC is planning to get some new areas and rectify the existing space according to the theme that is yet to be decided. Not only this, but GTA Online mode will also be having a modified and upgraded campaign map as it will be an ‘evolving map’ altering with every update, just like Fortnite map changes with entering new seasons. Gameplay for GTA 6 Not a major difference from that of GTA 5 as can be confirmed from the morsel of leaks. The set of a diner where players keep the hostages from escaping. They escape as they shoot them back and run. Also see Jason and Lucia, dodging the cops by stealing their car to drive around the alley. The assault rifle is also there in the scene while escaping we can see Jason is using the rifle. It is also tipped regarding the raw tests of movement mechanics, such as cover system, crawling, and crouching. The characters playing the game can also cover their face via hands or weapons to avoid headshots. The leaked footage also revealed that Jason is using the new vision ability feature to look in a convenience store. Just like what the gamers have also seen in the work of Deadeye in Red Dead Redemption. GTA leaks On September 18, 2022, 90+ videos showing content of 53 minutes and 26 seconds were leaked, marking the biggest data breach in history. This leaked footage gave us numerous information on the upcoming GTA installment, including the introduction of Female playable characters, the story can have hints of Bonnie and Clyde in the name of Jason and Lucia in GTA 6., the weapons, and many more. The leaker has now been arrested, but the damage has been made and the fixing task will delay the release date of GTA 6. The leaker happens to be a 17-year- old, who pleaded ‘not guilty’ and has drawn two charges related to computer misuse offenses that included leaking GTA 6 footage and violating the bail. GTA News The setback was major, but the Rockstar Games stated that it is “extremely disappointed” for footage getting leaked. However, the company motivated the developer by saying that “the next Grand Theft Auto will continue as planned”. With the assurance from developers that they “will update everyone again soon and, of course, will properly introduce you to this next game when it is ready”. There are some sets of news making rounds on social media platforms addressing the development of the game. Some of the news is as follows: According to the leaked clips, Grand Theft Auto's next installment will have cop cars with VCPD (Vice City Police Department) engraved on them. Even the metro train has ‘vice City’ written on it. A similar feature as “eagle eye” will be introduced in GTA 6, which enables the playable characters to keenly observe interactable spots in a specific location. In GTA 6 the playable characters can also have chat-based communication with the users. Twitter has also pointed out the strong creation of the characters as the playable characters will have improved movements.
