The popular food delivery app Zomato has quietly rolled out a 15-minute food delivery feature on its app offering users a quick way to get meals from nearby restaurants. While the company hasn’t officially announced the service yet, it’s already live for select users and can be found under a dedicated “15-minute delivery” tab in the app’s Explore section. The new feature highlights quick-to-prepare and ready-to-eat meals from restaurants located within a 1.5 to 2 km radius. Currently, the service is limited to specific areas but is expected to expand rapidly, according to a report by The Economic Times. This isn’t Zomato’s first foray into quick food delivery. The company previously launched a service called Zomato Instant, which was discontinued in 2023. It was replaced by “Everyday,” a platform offering home-style meals prepared in central kitchens, which has since expanded across major Indian cities. Now, with this 15-minute delivery initiative, Zomato is directly taking on Swiggy’s Bolt launched in October 2024. Bolt has already gained traction accounting for over 5% of Swiggy’s food delivery orders and operating in 400 cities as of December.
