As with every new iOS version we’re expecting some big changes with the iOS 17 as well, and thanks to leaks we have an idea on what the new update could come with. The latest leak shows redesigning of some apps in iOS 17. Apple is reportedly adding more features in customising wallpapers, and redesigning the Wallet and Health apps in iOS 17. The new leak comes from tipster @analyst941 who has been consistently sharing updates on Apple. The latest iOS 17 leak has given us our first glimpse at several redesigned elements of the next update. Tipster @analyst941, who goes by 941 on Twitter, has posted several renders of the iOS 17 on the micro-blogging platform. According to the tipster, apps like Health, Wallet, and Wallpaper interface will get a significant overhaul. However, since iOS 16 was a rocky terrain for Apple, iOS 17 is primarily expected to be an iterative upgrade focusing on weeding out the bugs and optimising the performance. Here’s all you need to know about the latest iOS 17 leak. New app designs reportedly coming in iOS 17 Right off the bat, we’d treat this rumor with skepticism. The source of the leak is @analyst941 on Twitter, who does not have an established long-term track record of accurate iOS leaks. They did, however, correctly predict certain details of the iPhone 14 Pro’s Dynamic Island ahead of its release. The source claims to have seen various aspects of iOS 17 themselves, including the new Wallet app, the new Health app, and the revamped interface for customizing your iPhone’s wallpaper. With that knowledge, the source created a set of concepts visualizing what these new designs will look like. The new Wallet app is said to feature an updated interface that offers search functionality and separated tabs for your cards and your other passes, such as airline boarding passes. iOS 17 will also reportedly add a bottom navigation bar to the Wallet app, with dedicated tabs for "Cash," "Keys, "IDs," and "Orders." Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has previously reported on Apple's plans to overhaul the Wallet app with a new design and new features in iOS 17. The new Health app will reportedly feature a revamped interface for the "Favorites" tab of the app. The new design will allegedly use smaller square-shaped tiles, allowing you to see additional metrics without having to scroll down the app. Finally, Apple is also reportedly planning to overhaul the process of changing and customizing your iPhone's wallpaper. Again, we'd treat the rumor with skepticism for now. Apple will officially unveil iOS 17 at WWDC in June, alongside updates to watchOS, iPadOS, macOS, and tvOS. iOS 17 Will Come With a Redesigned Wallet, Health, and Wallpaper Interface iOS 17 Wallpaper Customisation According to the tipster, in iOS 17, the wallpaper grid-view will display over nine wallpapers at once. You will also be able to delete wallpapers quickly and rearrange them in grid-view. iOS 17 will also let you swipe up in single-view if you want to share or duplicate wallpapers. iOS 17 redesigned Wallet App The ‘Favourites’ section in the Health app could get revamped in iOS 17. Images shared by the tipster show boxes for each category in the Favourites section of the Health app. Apple shows your heart rate, sleep routine, activity, steps, walking speed and more data in Favourites. At present, all this is displayed in a single-page format but we could see a more organised view in iOS 17. The Wallet app is also said to get a new interface that will show different tabs for all your cards and passes. So you’ll two sections for your cards and passes that you can conveniently access in the app. Another addition is supposedly a navigation bar at the bottom of the app that will have tabs for cards, cash, keys, IDs and orders. iOS 16 was already a major upgrade in terms of user interface since Apple for the first time introduced wallpaper customisation and widgets. It also introduced Dynamic Island that takes advantage of the front camera cutout on the iPhone 14 Pro series. iOS 17 Expected Release Apple is hosting WWDC from June 5th to June 9th where it is expected to unveil iOS 17 and give a detailed preview to everyone. The actual release should happen later this year after the iPhone 15 series schedule. Lastly, there will be multiple changes in the Wallet app too. It will get a categorised tab for everything, an “All Transactions” button, and a swipe down to search gesture. The leakster also claims that Apple Cash will get a dedicated tab in iOS 17. There are also rumors that the Health app is coming to watchOS 10 and iPadOS 17, and the streamlined interface makes sense for both larger and smaller screens. The Wallet app is reportedly getting an even bigger redesign, with several new features, including swipe to search, sorted tabs for credit cards and passes, a dedicated tab for Apple Cash, and “much more,” according to Analyst941. In the render provided, the app’s Home screen has a much cleaner organization, with smarter and simpler navigation aided by menus and buttons. Finally, Analyst941 also shares an image of the new Wallpaper tab in Settings with a grid layout that “displays 9+ wallpapers at once” and lets you easily rearrange your favorites similar to the customizable Lock Screen interface. You’ll also be able to easily share wallpapers and presumably, Lock Screens similar to Apple Watch faces. Apple will unveil iOS 17 at the WWDC keynote on June 5 along with iPadOS 17, watchOS 10, and macOS 14. Several new products are also expected to debut, including a 15-inch MacBook Air and the long-rumored AR headset. 2) Redesigned Favorites section in Health app. details ? Ans) The current version of the Health app that is available in iOS 16, has a favorites section that you may customize to view your health's summary. It displays various data such as activity, heart rate, sleep, etc., in horizontal panels. The new Health app in iOS 17 will change these panels into square boxes, each of which will contain a small colored graph or tables to provide visualization of the data. This could be a useful improvement compared to the existing version, which only lets you access the graphs by tapping on the relevant panel. Scrolling down the Summary page to view data is also slower as opposed to viewing it at a glance/ The new design retains the glyph icons representing each category. The app will let you rearrange the order of the panels to suit your needs. Rumors have suggested that the Cupertino company is working on a subscription-based AI-powered Health coach that will help users stay fit, this redesigned interface could help users monitor their health to see how their workout schedule is helping them. As a frequent user of the app, I like the design of the upcoming version. 3) Grid view for Wallpapers.Details? Ans) Apple is also tweaking the Wallpapers section in the Settings. Let's be honest, the current method to set the backdrop in iOS 16 is pretty basic, it displays a few categories and shows you three images (per category) on the screen, you have to swipe it to the side to scroll through the backgrounds. The new design for Wallpapers in iOS 17 will display a grid view featuring thumbnails of 9 wallpapers at once. It will allow users to delete wallpapers from the grid too, similar to editing your home screen. The images in the grid can also be rearranged. Swiping up on a wallpaper's preview will let you share the image easily, or you can duplicate it to make some changes using an image editor. It is not clear whether this will apply to the lock screen as well. Speaking of which, watchOS 10 will focus on Widgets as a crucial part of the user experience. 4)Alleged iOS 17 Wallet and Health App Redesigns Shown Off in Mockups.Details? Ans)The Wallet and Health apps are rumored to be getting updates in iOS 17, and leaker @analyst941 today shared some mockups that allegedly represent the design changes that we can expect to see. In the Wallet app mockup, there's a navigation bar at the bottom that separates the different functions available in the app. Cards, Cash, Keys, IDs, and Orders are listed categories. Note that this is a mockup, so the "ID's" spelling is likely an oversight. There's also a "Passes & More" tab, and the leaker claims there are other features coming as well. Users will reportedly be able to swipe down to access a search interface to find a specific card or pass, and there's a "Transactions" button. Compared to the current Wallet app design, this would be a functional improvement because it would make finding certain features like specific passes and order details simpler. It would not be a surprise to see a design like this given the many functions the Wallet app now serves in addition to storing credit and debit cards. As for the Health app, Analyst941 claims that the "Favorites" section under "Summary" will see a redesign with a card-style interface. Each card will have "visual data" that includes "colored graphs," "tables," and other information. Since the Summary tab in the Health app also includes Trends and Highlights, it is not clear how the card design for Favorites would work with those sections. Analyst941 leaked accurate information about the iPhone 14 Pro's Dynamic Island ahead of its launch last year, but this leaker does not have a long-term track record as of yet and the information shared should be viewed with some skepticism in light of that. Analyst941 has shared a number of rumors about features coming in iOS 17 in recent weeks, suggesting that there's a "special" version of iOS 17 in the works for a 14.1-inch iPad and that iPads will get iPhone-style Lock Screen customization, plus they have mentioned vague changes coming to Search, the Dynamic Island, Control Center, and more. They have also made claims about a new watchOS 10 Home Screen layout and have said that in the future, the Apple Watch will be able to pair with multiple devices, including the iPad and Mac. It's worth noting that Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has expressed doubt about Analyst941's claims and believes that some of the information is inaccurate. We'll know more about Analyst941's accuracy in just over a month when Apple unveils iOS 17, watchOS 10, and other updates at the June 5 WWDC keynote. Regardless of whether these mockups are accurate, there are other reliable rumors suggesting updates for the Health and Wallet apps. On the MacRumors podcast, Gurman confirmed that Apple is working on updates to the Wallet app, and he also recently said that Apple is working on new features for the Health app such as an expansion to the iPad and a mood tracking feature.
