By centralising these tools, OpenAI aims to make health-related interactions more structured and accessible within the app. Addressing data security, OpenAI emphasised that ChatGPT Health operates separately from the main chatbot experience. "To keep your health information protected and secure, (ChatGPT) Health operates as a separate space with enhanced privacy to protect sensitive data. Conversations in Health are not used to train our foundation models," OpenAI said. The launch comes at a time when health technology regulations are being reassessed. Earlier this week, U.S. Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Marty Makary stated that the agency would scale back regulation of wearable devices and software intended to support healthy lifestyles. Makary has previously described ChatGPT as a product that should be promoted, while also urging caution around major safety concerns. Availability and Rollout Timeline OpenAI plans to gradually expand access to ChatGPT Health, making it available to all users on web and iOS in the coming weeks.
