As Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S24 series continues to make waves, tech enthusiasts eagerly await the arrival of the more budget-friendly variant – the Galaxy S24 FE.
Positioned between the premium S24 and the mid-range Galaxy A55, the S24 FE promises to deliver a compelling blend of performance and affordability.
Recent reports suggest that Samsung has already begun mass-producing the Galaxy S24 FE’s OLED displays in the millions.
This production is expected to be completed by mid-July, indicating that the company is gearing up for an earlier-than-anticipated launch.
Rumours point to a potential release as early as July 10th, during the Galaxy Unpacked event in Paris, France.
Alternatively, Samsung may opt for a soft launch via a newsroom post.
While official details are scarce, leaks and rumours have provided insights into the Galaxy S24 FE’s specifications.
Display: The device is expected to feature a 6.1-inch or 6.65-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate, potentially smaller than the S23 FE’s 6.4-inch OLED panel.
Processor and Memory: Powering the S24 FE could be an underclocked version of the Exynos 2400 chip, with a 10-core CPU and a 3.1GHz prime core. Leaked benchmarks suggest impressive multi-core performance. The device is rumoured to come with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and storage options of 128GB and 256GB, with UFS 3.1 and UFS 4.0 respectively.
Camera: The main camera is expected to be the same 50MP ISOCELL GN3 sensor found in the Galaxy S23 FE, accompanied by a 3x telephoto lens and a 12MP ultra-wide lens. The selfie camera is rumoured to be a 10MP f/2.4 lens, similar to its predecessor.
Battery and Software: A 4,500mAh battery with 25W fast charging is anticipated, while the software front will likely feature One UI 6.1 based on Android 14, with promises of four years of OS and five years of security updates.
While specific pricing details are yet to be revealed, the Galaxy S24 FE is expected to be a budget-friendly offering, aligning with Samsung’s strategy of providing an affordable flagship experience.
