Samsung is gearing up for its next Unpacked event in January to unveil the 2025 flagship Galaxy S25 series. A recent Korean media report speculates that the company is setting a bigger sales goal for itself in 2025 based on the number of units it is planning to ship.
After the success of the Galaxy S24 lineup with strong sales driven by on-device Galaxy AI features, Samsung plans to ship even more Galaxy S25 units next year. Here’s what Korean media suggests.
According to Korean media publisher The Elec, the company is targeting shipments of 37 million Galaxy S25 handsets in 2025—a two-million-unit increase year-over-year.
The report also indicates that Samsung will deliver around 35 million Galaxy S24 units this year, surpassing Galaxy S23 sales from 2023.
One of the main reasons for Galaxy S24’s success has been the on-device Galaxy AI features, which include useful tools Live Translate and Chat Assist.
Live Translate on Galaxy AI enables seamless phone conversations between two people speaking different languages as it translates speech in real time.
The conversations with the AI tool here remain private since it operates on-device.
This capability turned out to be particularly useful for small businesses expanding globally, which helped in increasing its popularity.
Another standout AI feature is Chat Assist, which offers AI-powered tools for message proofreading, tone adjustments and grammatical corrections.
It also allows users to translate messages in real time and makes communication more efficient.
Samsung will reportedly make seven million foldable smartphones in 2025. (Image credit – Samsung)The Elec report also reveals that Samsung has been ramping up production for its foldable lineup.
The company plans to manufacture seven million foldable phones in 2025. up from the six million units expected this year.
This includes three million Galaxy Z Flip 7 units, 900,000 Galaxy Z Flip FE units and two million Galaxy Z Fold 7 units.
It is important to note that the Galaxy Z Flip series has been the company’s best-selling foldable smartphone model dominating sales every year since its first arrival.
