We’ve seen a series of leaks over the past couple of days, all giving us a sneaky look at Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold6.
Yesterday, we saw an image that exposed a little bit of the front of the device; today, we see its back.
The thing is, in both cases, the leaks only show us a part of the device, so we’re still feeling our way around the full design.
But bear with it, folks, for the full story is more interesting than what it seems.
From what we can see, the Z Fold6’s back harks back to Samsung’s latest Galaxy S series Ultras.
The camera island design is quintessentially Samsung, with vertically aligned cameras connected by a small island—a design similar to last year’s Galaxy Z Fold5, but with a less protruding oval shape below the cameras.
Upfront, another new leak has given us a clear view of the Galaxy Z Fold6’s face, put side by side with its predecessor.
As expected from the leak yesterday, the Fold6 has a more angular design with less rounded corners, looking a little like a Galaxy S24 Ultra.
The bezels around the cover screen appear to be a bit trimmed down, though still quite prominent.
That might not be too much of an issue since fold users are likely to use the inner folding screen for their tasks.
The device also looks slightly less tall than the Fold5, hinting at a possible adjustment in aspect ratio to make it wider, although not by a significant margin.
Rumours suggest that the Galaxy Z Fold6 will pack Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC across markets, which might just satisfy critics of Samsung’s Exynos chips.
It is set for its official launch this July, with the launch of the Galaxy Z Flip6, the Galaxy Watch7 family, the brand-new Galaxy Watch Ultra, and the long-awaited Galaxy Ring. With each new leak, the excitement for Samsung’s new foldable device grows.
