Samsung is reportedly preparing for the launch of its latest innovation in the foldable smartphone market, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra.
Slated for a July unveiling at a Galaxy Unpacked event, the Ultra model is set to debut alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 6, the Z Flip 6, and a lineup of other new Samsung products.
Information from Galaxy Club indicates that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra, bearing the model number SM-F958, is on its way.
This follows the release pattern of its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold 5, which had the model number SM-F946.
The standard Galaxy Z Fold 6 model has also been spotted with the model number SM-F956 in recent certifications.
Notably, Samsung’s foldable devices typically end their model numbers with a “6”, while the Ultra series smartphones, including the recently launched Galaxy S24 Ultra, end with an “8”.
This naming convention signals the imminent arrival of Samsung’s first Ultra Galaxy foldable device.
However, it seems that the availability of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra might initially be exclusive to South Korea, with no confirmation yet on its release in other regions.
Leaks have hinted that the Ultra variant will feature a dedicated slot for the S-Pen, marking a significant addition for users who appreciate the convenience and precision of Samsung’s stylus.
Furthermore, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra is expected to offer larger display sizes, with a 6.25-inch cover screen and a 7.61-inch inner screen, providing more screen real estate for users.
In related developments, both the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 have received certification from China’s 3C authority.
This certification confirms that the upcoming smartphones will support 25W wired fast charging, ensuring that users can quickly power up their devices.
Additionally, the next-generation foldables are rumoured to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Made for Galaxy chipsets, promising enhanced performance tailored to Samsung’s specifications.
