It seems Samsung is all set to launch its next rugged smartphone – the Galaxy XCover 7 Pro. The device has cleared FCC certification under model numbers SM-G766U and SM-G766U1, which can be taken as confirmation of the release as a successor to the Galaxy XCover 7. Here’s what we know so far.

The FCC listing (ID: A3LSMG766U) confirms support for 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G networks, along with triple-band Wi-Fi 6 (2.4GHz/5GHz/6GHz), Bluetooth 2.4GHz, and NFC.

The phone has also appeared in TUV Rheinland and Geekbench databases, showing global (SM-G766B), U.S. (SM-G766U/U1), and Canadian (SM-G766W) variants.
Geekbench benchmarks for SM-G766U1 reveal that the phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, featuring an octa-core setup (1×2.50GHz, 3×2.40GHz, 2×1.80GHz) with Adreno 810 GPU. It scored 1,157 (single-core) and 3,288 (multi-core) in benchmark tests.
The phone will run Android 15 with One UI 7 and come with 6GB RAM (5.21GB usable). A 4,265mAh battery is expected to power the device.
While full specs for the XCover 7 Pro are still unknown, looking at the recently launched Galaxy XCover 7 gives us some hints.
The Galaxy XCover 7 is built for rugged use, featuring IP68 water resistance, MIL-STD-810H certification, and Gorilla Glass Victus+ for enhanced durability. It has a 6.6-inch FHD+ TFT display with a 60Hz refresh rate and improved touch sensitivity for use with gloves.
It is powered by the Dimensity 6100+ processor, paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage (expandable up to 1TB via microSD). Camera-wise, it features a 50MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera.
Additional features include a user-replaceable 4,050mAh battery, a customisable XCover key, barcode scanner support via Knox Capture, Dolby Atmos audio, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB-C port, and POGO pin connectors.
