Samsung is gearing up to expand its rugged smartphone lineup with the anticipated Galaxy XCover 7, poised to be the successor to the Galaxy XCover 5 launched in 2021.
Leaks and rumors have gradually painted a picture of this upcoming device, revealing key details about its specifications and pricing.
The latest leak, shared by Roland Quandt on X (formerly Twitter), sheds light on the display, memory configurations, and the expected price tag.
Samsung’s journey in the rugged smartphone segment began in 2011 with the original Galaxy XCover.
Over the years, the company has consistently expanded and enhanced its rugged offerings, catering to a niche market that demands durability and performance in challenging environments.
Alongside the XCover 7, Samsung is also anticipated to introduce the next generation of its rugged tablets, with the Galaxy Tab Active5 recently securing FCC approval.
The Galaxy XCover 7 is rumored to feature a 6.6-inch display, supported by 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage.
It’s expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ SoC, offering efficient performance for a rugged device.
The upcoming Galaxy XCover 7 is anticipated to have a price tag of around EUR 400, which is higher than the previous XCover 5.
This price reflects the device’s enhanced features and specifications, catering to a more premium segment.
The Galaxy XCover 7 is designed to be rugged, featuring an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. Its durability is tailored for challenging environments, making it suitable for users who require a robust device.
Alongside the Galaxy XCover 7, Samsung is also expected to introduce the next generation of its rugged tablets.
The Galaxy Tab Active5, which recently received FCC approval, is part of Samsung’s ongoing commitment to the rugged device market.
